Frederick stands at 10-4 on the season, versus Thompson Valley at 7-6. Both programs show plenty of up and coming names ready to impact the following seasons.
Frederick
Wittler excelled all game, proving to be a threat from all areas of the floor. The lead guard was tasked with facilitating for others or attacking the rim off the bounce. Excelling in her short floaters, they made shots through incoming contests multiple opportunities. There was little opposing guards could do to slow her down from getting downhill. When provided space, Wittler knocked down shots behind the arc, off the catch in particular. Her help defense was alert, quick to swarm a ball handler who picked up their dribble.
Jima did well crashing the glass, creating a few extra shots for teammates from her hustle. Excellent staying strong in the paint, the guard has been excellent defending the post and staying strong. Whether a block or simply walling off the low post, she has been excellent guarding up as needed. When spacing the floor, Jima was dependable off the catch, active on the wings.

Avery Salisbury
Avery Salisbury
Salisbury consistently found driving lanes down the stretch, putting the defense into tough positions. Her dependable handle and willingness to deal with tight lanes has allowed the guard to be a routine scoring threat off of drives. Active initiating through contests, Salisbury will be a name to monitor this season.
Pack did well complimenting the others on either end, active knocking down jumpers when available off the catch. Alongside her shooting, the guard was prevalent helping early on drivers, active creating turnovers.

Kaylee Gardner
Kaylee Gardner
Gardner did well crashing the glass, as well causing havoc in the paint. Having no trouble drawing contact, the forward constantly leveraged her strength to grab fouls while on the move Contributing on a few off-balance finishes around the basket, Gardner was a jolt of energy for one of 5A’s top programs. Another area of impact came from her hustle, constantly on the prowl for the loose ball, creating a few swung possessions.

Rylee Gallegos
Gallegos competed on the defensive end, staying ready to push the pace and create an easy shot for her team.
Thompson Valley
Irelynd Barnes
Irelynd Barnes
Barnes stayed aggressive in transition, getting to the rim with urgency, although willing to be patient if defense came. Her situational awareness stood out, particularly in chaotic situations. Effective finishing at the rim with either hand, Barnes has been a steady complementary presence with this group.
Mekayla Macias
Mekayla Macias
Macias provided impact from drives downhill and the occasional spot-up shot attempt. Her consistnet motor kept this group competitive throughout the majority of the game, finding ways to squeak out points when necessary. This fairly young Thompson Valley group has plenty of room for growth, certainly looking to be one of the more competitive 5A groups over the coming years.
Jesika Hopkins
Jesika Hopkins
Hopkins routinely attacked the lane in the halfcourt, quick to catch and go if provided an opportunity. Effective pumping and going, the guard was excellent initiating to create shots for teammates.
