But the #4 ranked purple and gold ladies of Kinkaid were able to defeat #2 Episcopal. It was a croweded, lively atmosphere as many were in attendance to see Me’Arah O’neal of Episcopal as she had just been named a McDonald’s All-American.
The first half was back and forward defensive game. Kinkaid led 25-20 at the half, before seperating themselves in the 3rd quarter and never looking back in the 4th to finish to finish with a 65- 51 W. Here are standout performers from both sides.

I believe Sydney is maximizing her rebound potential- in her FRESHMAN year! A few summers ago, I saw her handling the boards, and now that she’s in high school it’s no different. After snagging rebounds out the air, she’s not immediately looking to outlet to an available guard. I really enjoyed watching her in transition, as she did a beautiful job setting up her teammates. I saw her throw lead passes where all her teammates had to do was get to the spot and finish or she would attack the paint to dish out to wide open teammates. The freshman’s poised and precise decision making must be noted!

Hull first grabbed my attention with her great interior passes. A lot of times, players’ decision making can be exposed when trying to make too many passes in the paint (in a single possession). Countless hours of 3 on 2, 2 on 1 drills are spent teaching players how to read the defense, decision making, etc. Hull was setting up her teammates inside with accurate bounce passes to put them in position to score or a trip to the free throw line. I also watched her use her high IQ to get a step inside defenders and attack the baseline and finish with smooth pull up jumpers. She seemed to favor mid. range shots (which is not common these days) but she can also pop the three. She is long and got lots of deflections when she was on the ball on the press and had a few blocked shots. Major upside her a freshman.

Flora is another class of 2027 prospect that has long been on the radar. At this point in the season, she’s playing solid minutes and showcasing her 3 point abilities. She’s a solid spot up shooter but can also hit off of the bounce. As the game was tightening up, multiple times Flora would knock down a shot. Very consistent! Flora also looks to get her teammates involved and plays within herself.

Volleyball commit, but Ndee is NOT afraid of contact. She did a great job battling for interior positioning with an opponent 4-5 inches taller than her. Once her man caught the ball on the block she did a good job of keeping her in front and not fouling. She also is quick laterally and has a solid size.
Daphne Melton

Melton did a good job of keeping her head up and seeing the whole court. She made smart passes to get her teammates involved. She can lead the break and made smart passes in transition.
Holt is a motor for her team. She gets other players involved and understands how to kick the ball in and out to find the open man. She is capable of shooting the 3 ball. Very crafty when she gets inside, and can get all the way to the basket. Great finisher inside and will draw offenders to get to the line.
