With so much high level basketball played, it’s been fun to witness the growth of players in real-time as their hard-work in the summer and during the preseason has definitely paid off. There has been so sophomore slump for the following ladies who have turned it up a notch and raised their level in Year 2:
Mia Washington Mia Washington 5'11" | PG Pope John | 2026 State NJ | Pope John
In just 13 games, Mia has already accomplished quite a bit. She’s already hit more 3-pointers than all of last year (18 so far), tied a career-high in rebounds (6 against Randolph) and steals (5 against Sparta) and set a career-high in point (27 against Chatham). At 5’11”, her length and versatility has caused problems for defenders far and wide. Pope John is 10-3 and Mia ranks second on her team in scoring, second in free throws made and first in 3-pointers made. She is averaging 14.5 ppg, 3.1 rpg and 1.7 spg for a team that looks to go far come state playoffs in February.
Stella Lockhart Stella Lockhart 6'1" | CG St. John Vianney | 2026 State NJ | St. John Vianney
In her first season with the Lady Lancers, Stella has made a tremendous impact and has put up incredible performances against nationally ranked powerhouses. She had 11 points, 8 rebounds and a team-high 4 assists in win against Dr. Phillips (FL), went off for a game-high 15 points and 9 rebounds in a win over Somerset Prep (FL) and exploded for 19 points and 11 rebounds against St. Vincent Pallotti (MD), both game-highs. She is averaging 11.2 ppg, 6.3 rpg, 2.1 apg and 1.5 spg through 15 games thus far as she proves to be one of the best 2026’s in the state and ultimately, the country.
Sophia Georgiades Sophia Georgiades 5'7" | PG Ridge | 2026 State NJ | Ridge
Sophia has already scored more points in 15 games than she did all of last year in 26. Her two-way guard play has been downright electric and it doesn’t appear like she’s taking her foot off the gas any time soon! She has marked career-highs in points and rebounds (34 & 13 against Morris Knolls), assists (7 against Phillipsburg) and steals (12 against Bridgewater-Raritan). Her three double-doubles is two more than she recorded as a freshman and with the second half of the season in front of her, I expect those numbers to climb even more. This sensational sophomore is averaging 17.7 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 2.1 apg and 3.4 spg.
Brooke Missry Brooke Missry 5'9" | SG St. Rose | 2026 State NJ | St. Rose
Brooke is seeing more minutes this season and is making each one count in a major way. She has recorded six games in double-figure scoring including a memorable 22-point performance (including seven 3’s) in a close 55-52 loss to the nation’s #8 team, Morris Catholic. She ranks second on her squad in scoring, second in rebounding and second in 3-pointers made and has helped St. Rose to an 11-5 record. Brooke’s superb season is seeing averages of 8.8 ppg, 3 rpg and 1.4 apg.
Angelica Do Angelica Do 5'7" | PG Leonia | 2026 State NJ | Leonia
Angelica came out guns blazing in December! She flirted with a triple-double in the first game of the season against Becton (17 points, 9 steals, 8 rebounds) and since then has gone on to record five double-doubles and tie a career-high in points (21 against Butler). She is one of the best two-way guards in her sophomore class, scoring it at a high clip and locking down on defense with laser-focus and intensity. She is currently averaging 15.8 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 2.2 apg and 9 spg through 14 games played.
Jordyn Hollawell Jordyn Hollawell 5'5" | CG Manasquan | 2026 State NJ | Manasquan
Jordyn’s upped production has been a joy to keep track of. She has seen more time on the floor and in just 15 game has already eclipsed totals in points, assists and steals from last season. She was solid across the board in Manasquan’s 68-46 win against Msgr. McClancy (NY), recording 9 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals. She was the difference-maker in a narrow 41-38 victory over Gill St. Bernard’s, putting up team-highs in points (8), rebounds (6) and assists (2). She is averaging 4.5 ppg, 2.7 rpg, 2.1 apg and 1.3 spg.
Imani Mullings Imani Mullings 5'5" | CG Plainfield Academy For The Art And Advanced Studies | 2026 State NJ | Plainfield
Imani has been a fireball of intensity and production in Year 2, already passing last season’s points total in just 13 games. She posted a career-best in points (23) in a win against Union and rebounds (7) in a win against Dayton. Her 3-point shooting has been red-hot, knocking down 4 triples in back-to-back games in January against Union and University. Imani’s explosiveness coupled with her ability to score at will makes her ultra dangerous! She has averages of 14.3 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 3.5 apg and 4 spg as she continues to torch opponents from everywhere on the court.
Toni Pernetti Toni Pernetti 5'11" | SF Ramapo | 2026 State NJ | Ramapo
Toni is having a breakout season that has seen double-figure scoring in eight games and career-highs in every statistical category across the board. She is Ramapo’s do-it-all star who can play multiple positions on the floor and play them well! She has size, speed and has a seriously sharp basketball acumen. She ranks third on her team in scoring, second in rebounding, second in steals and second in 3-pointers made. With two (consecutive) double-doubles already this season, something tells me that Toni is just scratching the surface of what’s to come, especially once tournament time nears. In 16 games, she is averaging 10.1 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 2.2 apg and 1.3 spg, displaying a stellar all-court game.
Camden Epstein Camden Epstein 5'10" | CG Ramapo | 2026 State NJ | Ramapo
Camden is following up a fantastic freshman season with a superb sophomore campaign that has already seen her score more points (236 thus far vs. 212 total) and drain more 3’s (31 thus far vs 28 total) in 16 games than in all of last year. She has been on a tear and has recorded career-bests in points (24 against Teaneck and Fair Lawn, assists (10 against Northern Highlands) and steals (5 against Bergenfield). With knockdown shooting and a remarkable ability to see the floor, Camden has proven herself to be lethal with the rock in her hands whether scoring or facilitating in impressive fashion. She is averaging 14.8 ppg, 2.6 rpg, 2.3 apg and 1.2 spg and leading Ramapo in scoring and 3-pointers made.
