Below I have listed the players who stood out to me in the third game of the day as North Laurel got the win over Dupont Manual in blowout fashion 71-43.
Brooke Nichelson Brooke Nichelson 5’10” | CG North Laurel | 2025 State KY continues to make her case as one of the top 2025 prospects in Kentucky. She took over this game and made an impact in many different ways. Nichelson had the hot hand from three-point land making 4 out of 5 of her shots from deep. She also came down with a ton of rebounds and did a good job putting her head down and attacking the basket. Nichelson was awarded player of the game and finished with a game-high 35 points, along with 10 rebounds and went 7/8 from the charity stripe.
Chloe Mcknight
Chloe Mcknight
Mcknight was a force in the interior, her size and strength was just too much for Manual and they just didn’t have answer for her down low. Mcknight displayed exceptional footwork on the low block where she scored at will even with defenders draped all over her. She was dominant on the glass as well and secured 10 rebounds and scored 12 points in the game.
Carl is an 8th that you need to look out for. She has a high IQ and does not need the ball in her hands all the time for her to be effective. Carl played with energy on both ends and seemed to always be in the right place at the right time. She ran the floor well using her speed and anticipation to get a head of everybody for fast break layups and she was very active on the boards as well. Carl scored 12 points in the game and pulled down 5 rebounds.
Highlights
Sweeney used her size and length to protect the rim, she also made a very good effort to rebound the ball, which led to several put back buckets. Sweeney scored well around the rim and showed solid post moves inside.
Morral Blount
Morral Blount
Blount made a difference for Manual on offense, she showed a nice shooting touch from the mid range and from three. Blunt was also very active on the boards and did a good job chasing down rebounds.
