Brooke was unstoppable from the opening tip against Ashland, setting the tone early with an aggressive offensive attack. She drove hard to the rack for North Laurel’s first points of the game and had a thunderous block in the first quarter. She dominated the glass and did a good job going coast to coast with the rock, scoring all 8 of North Laurel’s first-quarter points. She swatted another shot in the second quarter and drilled a crucial three-pointer in the third quarter to keep the game within four. Brooke continued to impact the game in every aspect and ultimately led her team victory.

13th Region Player of the Year and Miss Basketball candidate Brooke Nichelson Brooke Nichelson 5'11" | CG North Laurel | 2025 State KY was nothing short of sensational in the 13th Region Tournament. She posted 25 points and 7 rebounds in the opening round against Pineville, followed by 27 points and 9 rebounds in the semifinals against Corbin. Brooke completed her monumental run with 29 points and 7 rebounds in the championship game, leading North Laurel to Rupp Arena for the third year in a row.

Murray State commit Brooke Nichelson Brooke Nichelson 5'11" | CG North Laurel | 2025 State KY is off to an incredible start in her senior season. She went off for a game-high 32 points 10 rebounds, and nailed five triples in 17 minutes of action in the season-opener on against Pineville. Brooke then put up 33 points and 7 rebounds the next game, along with 32 points and 5 rebounds on Saturday in a win against Rockcastle County. North Laurel improves to 3-0 on the season.

Hard to say enough about her! Just plays so much bigger than she stature. Had a great 12 point, 3 block, 3 assists, 2 steal game with a made three in their Saturday night loss. Her athleticism allows her to do things 95% of kids simply can’t.

One of my favorite kids to watch. Her athleticism, innovative playmaking, ability to slice through tight spaces and finish around the rim make her so unique. She plays so much bigger than her size, and in win #3 she had a 16 point, 11 rebound 2 block performance.

This kid is just different! While her frame doesn’t look big and strong, she sure does play that way! She was incredible this weekend putting up games of 18 points and 12 boards, and then following that up with 25 point, 9 rebound, 2 block performance. The kid can do things up in the air that so few players can do.

Brooke is one of the smoothest guards that you are going to find. Every time she drives, I think I repeatedly say; that was nice. Honestly, I am yet to see anyone stop her when she attacks the rim. Yes, she hauled in 12 rebounds and tallied in 18 points. However, I can see her going for 30 on a nightly basis if it was needed! She’s an exceptional rebounding guard! Nichelson is different. The athleticism, the hangtime, the skill level, the acrobatic finishes, and the list continues on. She’s truly a different athlete and she is going to make a college at the next level extremely happy! This one is elite!

When she came in the game and guarded Hankerson it changed the energy of the game. Is a next level on the ball defender. Offensively, got out in transition and had a few acrobatic finishes. Next level athlete. Really gets down hill hard. Knows how to “get skinny” and slither through tight spaces. Continue to be so impressed with her game.

Just a super explosive athlete. Has a 2nd gear collapsing the paint, and makes the right reads on the pass/scoring opportunity. Really impressed with her ability to get the rim. Knocked down a big three to tie it at 11. She changed the energy of the game off the bench. From the corner, pump fake one dribble pull up. Her and the freshman carried them at times. She’s just sneaky athletic….2nd half skyed for an offensice rebound and putback. Continued to put pressure on the rim….and know finishes at an elite level.
