On Saturday, the first round of the Passaic County Tournament was held and we have some players to talk about with some great performances overall.
Kirsten Braunius – Eastern Christian (2025)
This is just Braunius’s second season with Eastern Christian. but she’s done a fantastic job as an interior presence for this team. Saturday was a great example of that, finishing with a season-high 16 points for the Eagles, all coming inside the perimeter. She’s someone who gets to the foul line consistently, but on Saturday, no free throws were needed for her excellent outing on the floor.
Addison Fleming Addison Fleming SF Eastern Christian | 2027 State NJ – Eastern Christian (2027)
Saturday wasn’t the prettiest of games in terms of standout scorers, but it was a balanced scoring display overall against an overmatched Paterson Arts team. Fleming, the freshman forward who has burst out onto the scene in Passaic County, had a great game for the Eagles, scoring 11 points while shooting 3-of-3 in free throws. It was her 10th game scoring in double-figures this season as she’s averaging 10.6 PPG for Eastern Christian overall.
Skye Polley – Lakeland (2025)
Just a dominant performance overall for Lakeland on Saturday, taking care of business against Clifton in a near 30-point win. Despite scoring 48 points as a team, Skye Polley had herself a standout performance on the floor, knocking down a pair of threes to finish with 12 points. It’s been an interesting season for her, taking on a more consistent starting spot for Lakeland, and while the points are slowly coming, performances like Saturday are a great sign moving forward.
Jasmine Star – Lakeland (2025)
Star just made it back onto the floor in late January, but almost immediately, she’s had a big impact for this team, from scoring to rebounding and defense, just an all-around performer. She finished Saturday’s game with nine points, two rebounds and a career-high six blocks, really doing work down low. So far in four games played this season, Star is averaging 10.5 PPG and 9.3 RPG for Lakeland.
Precious Mitchell Precious Mitchell 5'6" | PG Manchester Regional | 2026 State NJ – Manchester Regional (2026)
Someone had to step up for Manchester Regional in a game that proved to be a blowout from the start, and the sophomore Precious Mitchell Precious Mitchell 5'6" | PG Manchester Regional | 2026 State NJ was that player, putting up solid numbers in the loss. She finished with eight points and four rebounds, going a perfect 2-of-2 from the line as well. She’s had a solid sophomore year with a ton of great performances, currently averaging 9.8 PPG and 3.3 RPG, and her six steals on Saturday was her 10th game of 5+ steals as she’s averaging 6.5 SPG thus far.
Madelyn DiPillo Madelyn DiPillo SG Pompton Lakes | 2026 State NJ – Pompton Lakes (2026)
The last seven games for DiPillo have shown a great jump in her game overall as she’s established herself as one of the better players on this Pompton Lakes team, no doubt. A nine-point performance on Saturday continued the consistency she’s shown and now averaging 10.0 PPG this season and 13.9 PPG over her last seven, she’s putting in the work and getting some serious results.
