On Monday, Stone Bridge hosted a good Riverside squad. Stone Bridge won the game by 20 points, in large part due to Senior Guard Addie Hafer Addie Hafer 5’5″ | SG Stone Bridge | 2024 State VA . Addie knocked down a lot of threes and was the biggest reason Stone Bridge pulled away in the second quarter, hitting 3 threes. She also contributed to Stone Bridge’s win over Lightridge on Thursday.
Briar Woods took on Riverside on Thursday, and Senior Forward Noelle Cabiness Noelle Cabiness 6’0″ | PF Briar Woods | 2024 State VA had an impressive game. She did a great job on the offensive glass and showed off her improvements as a shooter. She knocked down 2 threes, one of them being a step back. She was dominant on the defensive end, finishing with 12 points, 10 rebounds, and 7 blocks in a 15-point Briar Woods win. Noelle also had a 12 rebound game in their first game of the week in a lopsided victory over Independence. Briar Woods had a 3-0 week, and Noelle played a huge part.
Highlights
Hope Drake Hope Drake 5’11” | SF Briar Woods | 2024 State VA scored 20+ points in all three of Briar Woods’ wins this week. She is the best player on one of the better public school teams in the state and is ridiculously consistent. Whether or not her three-point shot is falling, she always hovers around 20 points, and her rebounding was big all week. It was an unsurprisingly good week from a fantastic player.

Alysa Carrigan Alysa Carrigan 5’11” | SF Tuscarora | 2024 State VA had herself a tremendous week. She opened the week scoring 13 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 steals in a win over Rock Ridge. She then went for 26 points and 12 rebounds in a loss against one of the best teams in the state in Woodgrove. Then she capped off her brilliant week with 25 points, 15 rebounds, and 8 steals in a win over Broad Run. Alysa is one of the best defenders in the state and a truly gifted athlete. She was great last year, but Alysa has taken a real step this year. This was about as good of a week as she’s played, and that says a lot for such an outstanding player.
Highlights
Robinson had another great week, going 3-0. Georgia Simonsen Georgia Simonsen 6’0″ | SF Robinson Seconday School | 2025 State VA led them in scoring every game and played a massive part in Robinsons’ stifling defense. She had 25 in a 16-point win over a respectable West Potomac squad. Then she had 19 the next day against Lake Braddock. Then she finished the week with 10 over in a grind-it-out win over Alexandria City. Georgia is another fantastic two-way player and the best player on a 17-2 Robinson team.
Peyton Daley

Langley is 17-1 and has been excellent on the defensive side of the ball. Junior Guard Anya Rahman Anya Rahman 5’8″ | CG Langley | 2025 State VA is this team’s go-to option, and most of the offense goes through her. But I think Junior Center Peyton Daley was this team’s best player this week. Anya led them in scoring in the first two games, but Peyton was steady and impactful on both ends. Against Yorktown on Monday, Peyton had an efficient 18 points to go with her ten rebounds. Then, on Wednesday, she had another game where she dominated the glass, hauling in 15 rebounds, 8 of which were on the offensive glass. Then, on Thursday, in a very low-scoring game against Marshall, Peyton led all scorers with 14 points. Peyton is a great player and very underrated.
