James Madison
For a team that has won 4 straight state titles, James Madison has had a rough year. Their best player,

, missed a few weeks earlier in the year, and a difficult schedule contributed to a rocky start. James Madison is healthy now and starting to play a lot better. They picked up a massive win in a low-scoring and close game against an excellent Oakton team. James Madison is a threat moving forward with their defense and experience, and this 1 point win over Oakton may be the start of them turning their season around.
Loudoun Valley
Loudoun Valley is a good young team; They picked up a huge home win over Tuscarora in a fun 6-point victory. Coming into this year, Loudoun Valley was a team I had my eye on because of some of their younger players. Young players like

, Hailey Dunkerely, and Maggie Mills are players to watch over the next few years. Loudoun Valley is 10-4 and has picked up some good wins this season.
W.T. Woodson
Woodson had this week’s most impressive win by beating one of the best teams in NOVA in Robinson. Robinson is 13-2 and one of the best defensive teams in the area, and Woodson went there and beat them. They got 23 from Senior G/F Sabrina Niedrick. Their best player is

, a terrific shooter and one of the more active defenders you’ll see. Woodson is a good defensive team, and even though they are only 7-7, it’s always a battle when you play them. It was a huge win for Woodson, handing Robinson its second loss of the year.
South County
South County played two games this week and picked up two nice wins. They beat Woodson by 22 and followed that up the next day with an 11-point win over Lake Braddock. South County’s defense is spectacular, and they sit at 12-3. South County also had one of the season’s most impressive wins last week against one of the best public schools in the state in Gainesville.
