Tift County Mid-Season Report

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Tift County is off to an impressive start this season with a top 10 ranking in the state. After winning their first 7 games they ran into trouble dropping a couple losses in a row but bounced back. Currently, they have a 14-3 record with their only losses coming from teams ranked in the top 25: Buford, North Forsyth, and Bradley Institute. Since then, Tift County has been on a six-game winning streak running their opponents out the gym. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>They are led by a good combination of player who all can impact the game. Tift County girls currently have two players ranked both [player_tooltip player_id='674958' first='Jimmya' last='Cushion'] and [player_tooltip player_id='674934' first='Jalaya' last='Miller']. Both are high risers in the 2025 class with a ton of potential to grow. They also have plenty of experienced players that contribute to the team's overall success. They have a good combination of speed and size that leads to mismatches and easy transition baskets. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Tift County's defense is based on a full-court press that constantly pressures the opponent and forces turnovers. They trap the ballhandlers and disrupt their passes with excellent teamwork. As a result, their on and off-ball team defense is excellent. On offense, they are not shy to take shots from anywhere on the court. They use a lot of dribble penetration to create open 3-pointers. Additionally, their fast pace on offense mixed with their high defensive intensity is the key to them winning games and why Tift County is off to an impressive start this season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Tift County girls are also exceptional at running the fast break and finishing with easy layups. They do a great job cutting off the ball handler and jump passing lanes that lead to multiple steals throughout the game. Tift County has a strong chemistry with each other and shares the ball well to keep everyone involved on offense.
