I just wanted to get a little creative and bring you some different, fun categories of players to talk about in the 2025 class. In this one, I focus on floor generals who act like an extension of their head coach on the floor. Are they the only ones? Absolutely not. But these five ladies stood out in my mind almost immediately when I thought of this category.

– Emma hasn’t been seen on the grassroots circuit since she was in middle school, but rest assured she has been putting up numbers West of Indianapolis for the Warriors. She has grown a little, gotten a little stronger as well, but she is still a long, wiry, quick, and feisty guard. She is best attacking the basket, and she can score it in bunches, but she is also a nice distributor who averaged 6.5 assists per game this season.

– Addison has always been a talented, skilled kid, but she really impressed the state with her play at the Hall of Fame Classic in New Castle over Christmas Break. She has gotten noticeably stronger, she has the ball on a string, and she is crafty and knows how to facilitate. At the same time, she is a very good scorer at all three levels, a capable perimeter shooter, and she uses her length and physicality some at the defensive end of the floor.

– This Addison is a coach’s kid, and you can really see that shine through with her play. She tends to always make the correct decisions with the ball in her hands, and she is able to make just about any play. She has speed & quickness, she can change directions off the bounce and get to the basket, plus she can knock down shots consistently from outside. Defensively, she does a nice job of using her length and quickness to bother ball-handlers.

– During her first couple of years of high school ball, Lena focused on being more of the set-up person always finding ways to get her teammates the ball and execute the offense. She continued that this year, averaging 4.1 assists per game, but she was much more aggressive off the bounce, and shot it more/better from the perimeter. She is a nice athlete with some speed, and she’s a solid on-ball defender as well.

– Mackenzie has always struck me as sort of an “old school” style of point guard. She is a solid athlete in most directions, but she plays at a steady pace, she uses her strength and physicality at times to get places, and she doesn’t force the action often. She is just a nice, steady floor general who runs the offense, plays with effort, and knocks down open shots when left alone. I’ll be anxious to watch her a lot more this Spring.
