At the beginning of January, we updated our rankings for the Class of 2027. Not only did we add 25 new prospects to the overall list, but we also introduced the first true Top-25 for 2027 on Prep Girls Hoops Indiana. Below is a look at five of those players from the power forward and center lists. They aren't necessarily the top five players at these positions; this is simply a look at five of the prospects who are currently somewhere within our 2027 list.

[player_tooltip player_id='751056' first='Emery' last='Cardinal'], 2027, 6-0 PF, Guerin Catholic H.S.
- Emery got started off on the right foot this year, earning quality Varsity reps and showing a great deal of upside. The thing is, she might still grow another couple of inches. She has great length, wiry strength, and she is fairly fluid at her size. She operates mostly in the mid-post and short corners, but she does have developing skill, and could eventually be more of an inside-out '4'. She is still a wait-and-see kid, but she has a lot of intrigue about her game.

[player_tooltip player_id='834931' first='Alexis' last='Fields'], 2027, 6-1 C, Yorktown H.S.
- Alexis is an intriguing young post who definitely looks the part. She has a strong frame, broad shoulders, but she works hard and moves around the floor fairly well. She has nice touch in the mid-post and shot 71% from the free throw line this Winter, plus she stepped out and knocked down a handful of 3-pointers at a 38% rate (5-13). With her combination of strength, motor, and ability to stretch the floor, she could develop into a real problem.

[player_tooltip player_id='834936' first='Gatlin' last='Hanrath'], 2027, 6-2 C, Lowell H.S.
- Lowell has a fairly sizeable roster right now, but Gatlin found her way onto the floor each night. She's another player with some strength, nice length and broad shoulders, plus she plays with some versatility. She can sit on the block and use her size to overwhelm opponents, or she can step up to the mid-post and knock down a 15-foot jumper. She might still growth a little, but as she continues developing her skill, she could be a good one.

[player_tooltip player_id='756235' first='Avery' last='Hill'], 2027, 6-1 PF/C, Forest Park H.S.
- Forest Park won the past two Class 2A state titles, but they also graduated their taller kids, so Avery stepped in at the right time. She will need time to add strength and finish growing, but she is extremely long and wiry, she has a little bounce to her as well, and she can play effectively in most spots on the floor. She will be a wait-and-see kid until she finishes growing, but she has a great deal of upside and should be much more consistent as she gets older.

[player_tooltip player_id='834968' first='Kailey' last='Skurka'], 2027, 5-11 PF, Lake Central H.S.
- Kailey has the fortune of playing on a rather deep and talented Lake Central team, so she has been able to develop at her own pace. She has split time between JV and Varsity, but make no mistake, she will play a much bigger role in the future. She has an athletic frame with broad shoulders, some length, and wiry strength. She plays with a great motor, likes physicality, but I also feel like she has the potential to stretch her game outward over time.
