On Friday PCD defeated San Carlos and Miami defeated Pima in the 2A semis.

Phoenix Country Day defeated Miami in the 2A Finals and Page defeated Window Rock in the 3A Finals on Saturday.

Here were some of the standout PG and CG's

[player_tooltip player_id='860639' first='Melicia' last='Nelson'] Window Rock (Pictured)

A pure point guard with decent size sees the court well. She can thread the needle to a cutting teammate and score. She can get downhill, uses a floater and will pull-up off the dribble from mid-range. She is also very competitive on defense to rebound, block shots and has quick feet.

[player_tooltip player_id='673100' first='Tamia' last='Pietila'] Miami

A scoring point guard has next level court vision. She will throw up the court ropes and has the ability to handle the ball in tight spaces. She will score on pull-up threes and from mid-range. She is also very elusive to get to the basket or get fouled and had one nasty crossover into a pull-up. She makes jumpers off the catch but seems to like it best off the dribble.

[player_tooltip player_id='339088' first='Alyssa' last='Harris'] Page

An athletic combo guard who has a nice shift to her handle. She can create her own offense, ball fake and lay it in with either hand. She times her passes well to make her teammates better. She is tough on the ball and in the passing lanes to grab steals.

[player_tooltip player_id='582391' first='Aila' last='Kaibara'] Phoenix Country Day

A scoring lead guard had a great two day stretch. She guided her team both days and was very good on the ball defensively. She will rebound and block shots. She scores with floaters after she hesitates and gets downhill also with a burst of speed plus will drill the three. She had 18 in the semis and 19 with 12 rebounds and 8 assists in the Final.

[player_tooltip player_id='443661' first='Olivia' last='Owens'] Phoenix Country Day

The top player on the weekend showed off her whole bag. She scored 21 in the semis with 28 in the Finals to go along with 9 rebounds and 4 steals. She scores on deep threes, floaters and off the dribble pull-ups from mid-range. She is easily one of the top guards in the entire AIA.

[player_tooltip player_id='605114' first='Ellysia' last='Cutter'] San Carlos

A fluid scoring guard or point forward type handles it well like a lead guard and can make a play. She will score it with catch and shoot threes, drive by her defender in traffic with her handle and speed or euro down the lane.
