Off in the distance seniors are starting to look ahead at post-season tournament runs and, even further in the distance, the end of their high school basketball careers. With those milestones approaching it is a good time to take a look at some down-the-list senior point guards to see. Most of the player statistics included are drawn from MaxPreps.

[player_tooltip player_id='300816' first='Camdyn' last='Eytcheson'], 5'6", Independence - The solid ball handler has quickness on both ends of the floor and speed with the ball in transition. She is also a credible perimeter threat off the dribble and catch. She is currently ranked #131.

[player_tooltip player_id='396399' first='Leela' last='Jones'], 5'3", Wichita Southeast - Currently ranked #154, Jones is a quick, physical player with a good first step. While she is averaging 9.8 points per contest she is registering other good numbers for the Buffaloes. She is generating a strong 4.8 steals while dishing out 2.5 assists. Jones is also grabbing 6.2 rebounds per game with nearly 50% of them offensive.

[player_tooltip player_id='265119' first='Mya' last='Mayberry'], 5'8", Wichita Heights - Ranked #66 in the class, Mayberry was recently seen by my colleague Jeremy Deckard at the Capital City Classic. He said she is extremely scrappy and showed a high game IQ. Strong and fast with good height at the position Mayberry finishes through contact and hits the long ball with range.

[player_tooltip player_id='817399' first='Presley' last='Simpson'], 5'6", Atchison - Simpson is currently ranked #176 and is having a big year. While shooting a blistering 40% from the three point line she is tallying nearly 14 points per game. The solidly built guard is also dishing out 2.5 assists and gathering 6.6 rebounds per contest for the Phoenix. Simpson will can the three ball off the dribble, the pull-up and the catch from all spots around the perimeter.

[player_tooltip player_id='743334' first='Londyn' last='Soto'], 5'4", Circle - If you like speed and quickness then the #181 ranked Soto is one to watch. Not a player who will be caught after jumping a passing lane for a steal, she also gets down the floor off a teammates' rebound or steal to get the transition hoop. Soto has good strength and handles that enable her to beat traps and finish against challengers.

[player_tooltip player_id='744534' first='Kennedy' last='Werth'], 5'7", Quinter - The #205 ranked Werth has good handles and a swift, smooth perimeter three ball. With her solid size, length, and quickness she defends the ball in the open court well. Werth is putting up 9.4 points per game for the Bulldogs and gathering 3.3 rebounds per game. While her assists per game total has dropped to 2.5 per game from a season ago she has a very respectable 1.36 assists-to-turnovers ratio. Defensively Werth is collecting 3.3 steals per game as well.
