I caught day 2 of the event. Let’s take a look at some of the junior ball handlers that stood out at the event.

Elisabeth Suplice
Elisabeth Suplice was tough handling the ball and playing defense. She knows how to attack the basket and keep her eyes peeled looking for open teammates. On defense, she came out of nowhere grabbing steals to explode up the court and score some points.
Alana Hankerson is nice with her handles, and she’s fun to watch on the full court press getting her hands in the way. As a guard, she even got some nice over the back calls with her stellar box out on defense. Her shot fakes are sure to get defenders off their feet as she gets around them pulling up for a jumper. She seemed to be a magnet for the ball on defense being able to tie it up inhibiting her opponents from getting a play going.
Gabby Matthews does a nice job using hesitation moves to get by her defender and score some points at the rim. She doesn’t back down from contact making it count when needed. She sees the floor well finding her open teammates up the court hitting them in stride for their own points. Her screens were incredibly effective coming right to her opponent letting her teammate move past her with an open look.
Highlights
Sanai Cole was handling the ball most of the game bringing it up the court using some in and out moves to create space and get to the rim. Her court vision was apparent as she knew how to make the perfect pass to her teammates, especially looking for the post players on the block. Watching her on ball defense was fun as she picked the pocket of her opponents pushing it the other direction for some fast break opportunities.
