I know I am biased when it comes to North Carolina athletes, so let’s touch on the top NC performers from day 2 of the event.
Leilani Robinson
Leilani Robinson
Leilani Robinson was doing everything for her team knocking down shots from around the arc and attacking the basket. She didn’t back down from contact, and she took care of the possession on tough drives to the rim. Her ability to push the tempo trying to add some favor for her team was fun to watch as she knew how to take advantage of her defenders getting back slowly.
Jocelyne Grier is so quick with the ball pushing it up the court and making decisions before her defenders can make adjustments. She explodes to the basket handling the ball through contact with ease, and she can certainly pull up for her shot from deep making it quicker than an opponent can close out. She even got inside to grab rebounds extending offensive possessions for her team.
Highlights
Alyssa Hankerson was scoring on all levels getting back to back plays earning five points by showing off her range shooting the ball and attacking the basket off of shot fakes. She was automatic from deep in a tough matchup being ready to shoot the ball. Not only can she score on her own, but she can make the impact plays hitting her teammates in stride for some points.

Dariyah Harris uses her length to get up high for her shots shooting over the defenders trying to block her path. She does a nice job settling into the middle of a press break being able to handle the ball and see up the court. She had a nice drive pulling up for a floater on the baseline making it count for two points.
Sky Donaie had some nice takes to the basket using her dribbles to attack the basket baseline. She does the work without the ball sealing off her opponents for the entry pass, and she didn’t back down from contact battling with her moves inside. When the game was on the line, her coach made sure to draw up a play to get her the ball and a chance to win the game.
Aleksandra Kubiak did a nice job making her own offensive possession coming up with steals. She made some nice moves to the basket cutting backdoor scoring off the pass and going to work off the dribble. She made sure to block the path of her opponents protecting the basket. She made some nice adjustments getting the pass to her teammates cutting backdoor for their own bucket.
