Monday saw the quarterfinals of the NJSIAA South Jersey Non-Public A & B tournaments take place, some eight games featuring top talent and teams in the state. There were close games, upsets and blowouts throughout, but this article will talk about the more unsung performances, under-the-radar games from players.

[player_tooltip player_id='1198659' first='Katelyn' last='Coryell'] - Our Lady of Mercy (2027)

The cream rose to the top when looking at OLMA's top scorers on Monday, but of the supporting cast, freshman guard [player_tooltip player_id='1198659' first='Katelyn' last='Coryell'] provided solid minutes and production in an upset win over St. Thomas Aquinas. Not always in the scoring column, Coryell finished the day with eight points and four rebounds, hitting a pair of threes in the process. OLMA needed any kind of help it could get, and that coincided with a massive victory.

[player_tooltip player_id='559819' first='Whitney' last='Hobson'] - Trinity Hall (2026)

Trinity Hall was this close to pulling off an upset over No. 2 seeded Paul VI on Monday, but came up just short. Now finishing up her sophomore season, Hobson came into the fold and had a day against the Eagles, recording 10 points, three rebounds and an all-important two steals in the loss. She was also a perfect 4-of-4 from the line as Trinity Hall shot 79.2 percent from the line as a team.

[player_tooltip player_id='789189' first='Brooke' last='Stagliano'] - Paul VI (2027)

Stagliano's freshman season with Paul VI has been an impressive one thus far, and in a four-point win, every point truly counted. Her six points, both off three-pointers, had an impact, along with four rebounds and a team-leading three steals. Effective offensively and explosive defensively, Stagliano has been a great complementary option and asset on the Paul VI team, one of their better players overall this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='559134' first='Cali' last='McCoy'] - Rutgers Prep (2026)

McCoy has seen limited minutes and has had limited production as a sophomore this season. She'll undoubtedly be a piece to rely upon as a junior and we're starting to see glimpses of why. Monday was one of those 'Why' days, one of the best performances of her career with the Argos. She finished with seven points, three rebounds and an assist, but got to the line and showed a lot of physicality on the floor.

[player_tooltip player_id='859164' first='Kayla' last='Oliphant'] - Trenton Catholic (2024)

Trenton Catholic came up short on Monday, but when it needed a big-time performance out of its team, senior [player_tooltip player_id='859164' first='Kayla' last='Oliphant'] delivered. All she did was score a season-high 22 points for the Iron Mikes, knocking down a three and getting to the line quite a few times to generate points in different ways. Her high school career ended on Monday, but that doesn't take away from the game she had to go out with.

[player_tooltip player_id='789172' first='Yazaniah' last='Shumate'] - Gloucester Catholic (2027)

In a tight battle between Trenton Catholic and Gloucester Catholic, the Rams emerged victorious. Thank freshman [player_tooltip player_id='789172' first='Yazaniah' last='Shumate'] for that, among other players. The freshman was one of three GC players to consistently get to the line in the win, shooting 5-of-6 there as she finished with 11 points overall. There's a lot of young talent with the Rams, and Shumate is next-in-line of that talent pool.

[player_tooltip player_id='651496' first='Ashley' last='Kreiger'] - Ranney (2027)

The shocker of the day came between Ranney and Wildwood Catholic, a 7/2 matchup that went to overtime. Ranney pulled off the 52-50 upset to get to the semis, and freshman [player_tooltip player_id='651496' first='Ashley' last='Kreiger'] is a big reason why they got there. She posted a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds, adding three blocks and two steals to her resume. It was an all-around stellar performance from the freshman big.
