Addie Hafer Addie Hafer 5’5″ | SG Stone Bridge | 2024 State VA had another excellent day for Stone Bridge, leading them in scoring in their win over Massaponax. This was one of the more impressive wins of the round, considering Stone Bridge is a younger team visiting a good Massaponax team. Addie had another great day shooting the ball, as she has made that a routine over the past month. She finished with 18 leading Stone Bridge.
Centreville and James Madison played one of the best games of the year I watched. Centreville won in overtime to knock off the four-time state champs. Stella Gougoufkas Stella Gougoufkas 5’10” | SF James Madison | 2024 State VA had a heroic performance for James Madison. She put her head down early in the game and got to the rim aggressively. She forced fouls and had some nice finishes. Stella had a good game shooting the three and taking advantage of Centreville’s zone. She hit a difficult buzzer-beating three-pointer at the end of the 3rd quarter. I’ve always loved watching how Stella competes on both ends and uses her strength and athleticism tremendously as a driver. Stella finished with 22 points.
I always felt like Avery Griepentrog Avery Griepentrog 5’10” | PF James Madison | 2024 State VA was one of the more underappreciated players during the last few James Madison state title runs. Her energy and defense are always great; those were on display yesterday. Avery was a huge factor on the offensive glass and was everywhere on the court. She knocked down a three and finished with 10 points.

Madison is the consistent and steady senior presence for this Gainesville team, and she had a solid game in their rout over Battlefield. Madison was active defensively and led her team in scoring with 17.
