We have many senior’s throughout the state that are on a mission this season to ensure that they leave their mark for years to come. Take a look at some players doing just that in their senior year.
The Johnson University Commit Kennedy Creekmore Kennedy Creekmore 5’5″ | SG McCreary Central | 2024 State KY is having a strong senior season for McCreary Central. She’s scoring a team-leading 17 points per game and making her presence felt on both ends of the floor. Kennedy is a deadly outside shooter with impressive range from deep and a quick release. She also facilitates the ball and really gets after it on the defensive end. She has several 20+ point games this season, including a game against East Jessamine where she put up 25 points and nailed 6 3-pointers to give her team the win. After reaching 1500 career points a few weeks ago, I see her finishing the season as one of the top players in the 12 Region. (Featured Image)

Biddle sits in the top 20 for scoring leaders in the state with 21.5 PPG and the top 10 for rebounders in the state with 13 RPG, leading the Lady Wildcats in both categories. She is a special player with good size and skill, that can score from all 3-levels and rebound with authority. Biddle secured her 800th career rebound and has several big games this season, including 32 points and 20 rebounds against Carroll County and a 25 point 20 rebound game in the All “A” Championship against Walton-Verona.

Kentucky Christian University is getting a player that could make an immediate impact for their program next fall in Betsy Layne’s Haleigh Damron Haleigh Damron 5’7″ | SF Betsy Layne | 2024 State KY . The senior leader is leaving it all on the floor this season averaging a team-high 17.6 PPG along with 6.7 RPG. Damron has a very balanced game, she is a good rebounder and interior scorer with a arsenal of post moves that she uses to score on the low block. She can also step out and shoot the 3-ball consistently and protect the rim on defense.

Riley Compton Riley Compton 5’11” | PF Floyd Central | 2024 State KY is putting up historical numbers at Floyd Central this season. She is in the top 20 for scoring leaders putting up 20.8 PPG and one of the top rebounders in the state grabbing a total of 289 (13.8% RPG) in just 21 games played. Her hard work and competitiveness has been evident as she continues to impose her will each and every game. Compton has 20 double-double performances this season, which I think should be gaining national attention, not to mention most of those games she finished with 25+ points and 12+ boards. The other night against Prestonsburg went off for a team-high 25 points and 19 rebounds. I don’t know if she is already committed to play at the next level but she would be a steal for a college program.

Shiyah Forte Shiyah Forte 5’8″ | SG Hopkinsville | 2024 State KY is doing it all for the Hopkinsville Lady Tigers this season. The senior guard is averaging a team-leading 13 PPG and 12.3 RPG. She is a terrific rebounder for a guard and is at her best when she drives to the basket, where she either scores at the rim or draws contact for a trip to the free throw line. Forte is a tough competitor that is making some noise in Region 2 this season.
