We are now in the heart of district tournaments, as many semifinals and championship games will be played between tonight and Saturday. Grab your popcorn!
The Cascade Lady Champions are headed to their first district championship game since the 2013-14 season after their 45-43 win over the Community Viqueens. Sophie Ray Sophie Ray 5’8″ | PF Cascade | 2025 State TN hit big shot after big shot (she finished with 9 points), and Keagan Young play terrific on both ends. Offensively she paced her squad with 12 points, and defensively she held Anna Haskins Anna Haskins 5’10” | SF Community | 2026 TN to only 7 points.
Community lost to Cascade on Wednesday night, but ’27 Alyssa White Alyssa White 6’1″ | C Community | 2027 TN continues to be a revelation. In a Battle of Bedford rematch, the freshman phenom had a game high 16 points. She’s been one of the more consistently good ’27s in the state.
Jenny Clifton Jenny Clifton 5’8″ | SF Loretto | 2024 State TN hit four threes and scored 21 points. Ally Weathers Ally Weathers 5’8″ | SG Loretto | 2025 State TN scored 22 points to lead Loretto over Lewis County in the first round of the District 10 2A tournament. Loretto now stares down another matchup with Summertown…for the third time this season. Loretto knocked down 12 threes as a team, and they are really playing nice basketball ahead of the district championship vs Summertown.
Riggs has led Summertown to their district tourney championship game, as she scored 23 in their 1st round win. Riggs knocked down 5 three pointers, and Abbie Shaffer Abbie Shaffer 5’7″ | SG Summertown | 2025 State TN added 18 points, and Karlie Campbell added 10.
Totten has had a big week for Portland. She averaging 17 a game over the last 6 games, and is playing terrific basketball as they are on a hot-streak heading into the district tourney. In their win on Monday, not only did they earn a share of the regular season district championship, but Totten also surpassed 1,000 points for her career. Congrats kid!
Highlights
Kirkwood won its first district tournament game in program history! It was Davia Collins Davia Collins 5’10” | PF Kirkwood | 2027 TN who led the way with 16 points, as she’s turning into a nice inside-outside threat. Kirkwood’s first district tournament win gives them the chance to face Clarksville and a certain McDonalds All-American…
