[player_tooltip player_id='379520' first='Natalie' last='Smith'], Nitro, W, 6-0, Jr. - Her claws flew through the air! Ouch. On a night when the Nitro Wildcats faced a very familiar opponent, [player_tooltip player_id='379520' first='Natalie' last='Smith'] responded in a very familiar way. The junior tallied a great double-double effort of 32 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists as her Wildcats held off the Ripley Vikings, 42-32. She slashed at them with her drives to the basket. She swiped at them as she ripped down her boards. She fileted their hopes as she created for her teammates. About the only thing she didn't get done on the night? Nothing. Actually. Smith showed herself as a big-time player that could put a team on her back and lead them to a victory.

[player_tooltip player_id='379526' first='Addie' last='Adkins'], Wayne, G, 6-0, Jr. -Who exploded for points when her team needed her the most? [player_tooltip player_id='379526' first='Addie' last='Adkins'] exploded for points when her team needed her the most. With her Wayne Pioneers facing a potential road trip in the regional co-final, Adkins made sure her team will have a home game in an attempt to advance to Charleston. Adkins provided all the psychological torture in the Pioneers' 68-30 win over Logan. She consistently made it that much harder for the Cougars by her connecting on 8 treys during her 24-point performance. After she nailed her second trey from the volleyball line, it was clear that this was not going to be the Cougars' night. Everyone rallied around Adkins' effort as they all pushed the Pioneers to a sectional championship.

Not so fast my friend. She transformed into a junior during the Minutemaids' 53-52 overtime win over Sissonville. Over the course of just a few seconds she went from 10th grader to amazing, she upped her cred with just one shot. Her overtime buzzer beater showed she's ready for much more responsibility on the basketball court, no matter the team or the place. By hitting the big shot, she shaped herself into a kid that showed college coaches she can be trusted to take the big shots in big moments with big confidence. Overall, her performance may end up being a defining night on her journey to college basketball.
