Dozens of Kansas senior prospects have already committed or signed to play college ball next season. In this second of a series on top ranked players still available I now look at the top 5 point guards. The series kicked off with a look at power forwards and centers.
Taylin Stallbaumer Taylin Stallbaumer 5'7" | CG Seaman | 2024 State KS , 5’7″, Seaman – The lone uncommitted point guard in the top 20 Stallbaumer is a strong multisport athlete. Last season she earned United Kansas League first team and Varsity Kansas 5A honorable mention honors. Previous to that she was a two-time Centennial League second team selection. A starter for the Vikings her entire career Stallbaumer is a quick, fast floor leader. An athletic finisher with either hand Stallbaumer is a consistent perimeter threat.
Jacqueline Hall Jacqueline Hall 5'10" | PG Pittsburg | 2024 State KS , 5’10”, Pittsburg – ‘Jackie’ Hall, a two-time Southeast Kansas League second team selection, has been an overlooked talent until just recently. She has great length, strong handles, quick hands and good footwork. She has also been a team leader for a young team the past two seasons. Hall has many talents including shooting the three ball with range and elevation and floor vision to break down defenses. With her size she is a great candidate to also play a stretch four at the next level. She holds a recent JUCO division 1 offer and has received additional interest from NAIA and JUCO schools.
Nyah Chandler Nyah Chandler 5'8" | PG Wichita East | 2024 State KS , 5’8″, Wichita East – Chandler has been an impact player for several years in the Wichita area. A two-time KBCA 6A honorable mention selection she also was a Greater Wichita Area League first teamer in 2023 after receiving second team honors in 2022. Chandler is well known for her three level scoring ability. She shoots the ball with range and has the physicality and interior game to score inside and rebound strongly. While stats are publicly unavailable this season, MaxPreps shows her averaging more than 20 points at a 48% field goal clip and 10 rebounds per game as well as 2.5 steals and 1.8 assists. She shot 38% from behind the arc and 73% from the line. My colleague Adrian Maloney describes her as crafty due to her ability to read defenses and create in a variety of situations.
Kodi Greer Kodi Greer 5'6" | PG Basehor-Linwood | 2024 State KS , 5’6″, Basehor-Linwood – There is a great deal to like about Greer’s game. A player who can push tempo and make strong passes in transition she also scores the ball well. A well respected perimeter shooter Greer has a great frame to absorb contact on finishes. While Greer can score with athleticism and creativity she is also a unselfish distributor always working to get her teammates involved. What separates her from the pile though is her defense. She is among the top on-ball defenders in the state due to good footwork and great balance and positioning. She has drawn interest from NAIA and JUCO programs.
Sara Springer Sara Springer 5'5" | PG Wamego | 2024 State KS , 5’4″, Wamego – I have been watching Springer for many years and have been delighted with her development. A point guard who has always had solid handles and an ability to split defenders, her game exploded in 2023 due to increased quickness, transition speed, and even better handles. She shoots the perimeter jumper well, is money from the free throw line, uses a variety of shots to score around the rim, and uses both hands well.
