The talented shotmaker is a matchup nightmare for opponents, given her athletic advantages and supreme shooting abilities. Certainly among the headliners for unsigned prospects, Baldessari brings efficient shotmaking along with pedigree playmaking with the ball. Few opponents have been successful slowing her down through the past two seasons, getting whatever she wants. Other areas of impact have come from her rebounding, particularly on the defensive side, readily boxing out opponents.
The state’s most consistent perimeter shooter, Chicco is excellent off of movement or from a standstill. The guard has steadily improved her shotmaking diversity, capable getting to quick side steps even with a defender nearby. Should opponents go over on ball screens, Chicco has been effective reading the defense for driving lanes, quick to attack open space.
Receiving interest from a variety of JUCO’s, Holmes is a capable two-way prospect who brings shotmaking repertoire out of the gates. An effective scorer with a head of steam, the wing can pull-up for shots off the bounce or take it all the way into the paint. Rarely fazed by a contest, she has quite a few counter moves to create space, even while off-balance.
Highlights
Nykerk’s consistent shooting along the perimeter should gain her a look as a floor spacer down the line. Most effective from spot-up attempts, she does her part to stay shot ready off the catch. She leads Glenwood Springs in steals per game by a significant margin, a testament to her quick reactions, particularly in the passing lanes.
Mayer shows value as a complementary scorer, notably knocking down 28 of her 32 free throw attempts this season, up to 88% from the line. Willing to initiate contact around the rim, the guard is particularly consistent finishing with her right hand through contact. From beyond the arc, Mayer has upside contributing attempts off the catch, taking a fairly high volume through her final season with 14-9 Palmer Ridge.
Stark is an intriguing defensive asset who can guard up against taller opponents, consistently leveraging her low center of gravity to hold her ground down low. Although playing behind two D1 athletes, Stark has found ways to contribute in areas outside of shotmaking, particularly through her rebounding and help side defense.
Taking on a significantly larger role offensively, Ellington has led Green Mountain in points and steals all while providing far and away the most three point attempts from this group. Although taking on a large offensive role for that group, her defensive consistency each possession has allowed that team to succeed, up to 16-6 on the season. A dependable two-way asset, Ellington is worth the look from collegiate programs.
Allison has found value as a downhill scorer, picking her spots within the half court to take advantage of driving lanes. A strong guard, she is adept at taking contact to either draw the foul or move away the nearby defender. She has shown flashes as a perimeter shooter, most dependable from a standstill.
