Breeley Clayburg Breeley Clayburg 6’1″ | C Coon Rapids-Bayard | 2024 IA ends off her high school career as one of the most productive Centers throughout the State of Iowa for her Coon Rapids-Bayand program. The best way to describe Clayburg’s play-style is dominant. Both literally and metaphorically. She is a prospect that stands at 6’0 with some muscles to go along with it. She has proven this past year that she moves really well down the floor from rim to rim throughout the duration of a ball-game. This Winter she put together a rememberable season. She had moments where she made a buzzer beater to move her team onto the next round of playoffs, she defended and protected the paint with her life on an every day basis, and she always put her best foot forward. Looking back, Clayburg should be proud of what she started. She left a foundation to build on within that program and that’s not something everyone can say at the end of the day.
With Bradi Krager Bradi Krager 5’8″ | SG Sioux Central | 2024 IA competing out of Sioux Central High School, I didn’t get to see her compete as much as I would of liked to this Winter but that didn’t stop her from having a nice season in total. Krager, a 5’10 CG/SF, ended off her career with a 1st Team All State selection and that really says it all. She was someone this season that really put her game together. She was a beast on both sides of the floor, never giving up on a play or quitting on her teammates when things got tough. This Sioux Center program is one that had a few ballers show out this year on their way to the State Tournament. They demonstrated what it’s like to compete as a single unit with one common goal and that is noteworthy. Sometimes coaches of programs push their own agenda’s but not in this case. Here it was all business and that is some thing you love to see from an outside point of view. As from Krager individually, I’m not sure what her future holds but if she gets a chance to compete at the next level in this sport, I’m sure she is going to make her mark wherever that may be.
Whenever we have spoken about Nodaway Valley the past few years, it’s because of the play of Lindsey Davis Lindsey Davis 5’8″ | SG Nodaway Valley | 2024 State IA and Izzy Eisbach Izzy Eisbach 5’9″ | SG Nodaway Valley | 2026 State IA but a Guard for them that put together a great high school career is Annika Nelson Annika Nelson 5’5″ | PG Nodaway Valley | 2024 IA . Nelson is a “glue” type, team first prospect. She is a Guard, standings around 5’5 and she can do a plethora of positive things on the floor for her squad. She demonstrated that she can bring up the ball against pressure and run the PG spot or she can move to the 2-Guard and knock down some shots from deep. Defensively, she holds her own. She can stick on a smaller guard or she can move and play against someone her own size. The Wolverines season may not have ended how they would have imagined but that didn’t stop Nelson from having a solid Senior year she should be proud of.
Natalie Steele Natalie Steele 5’9″ | SF Columbus Catholic | 2024 IA of Columbus Catholic High School was a team captain for her program this past season and for good reason. Steele lead by example, left it all on the floor, and she never complained or made excuses for a mistake that took place on the court. Steele is the type of prospect that I would personally love to coach. She listens to her coaching staff, understands how to play the sport the right way, and she has great energy. As it pertains to lengthy and athletic prospects out of this 2024 Class, Steele ends her high school career as one of my favorite. She embodies what it means to be a good teammate to those around her and that’s something she should hang her hat on while looking back at this season.
If there is a collegiate program out there looking for a crafty Guard, who can move around the floor and produce at a number of positions, Madison Stowater Madison Stowater 5’8″ | PG Ridge View | 2024 IA of Ridge View High School may be of interest to you. Stowater is a 5’7 Guard that can hold her own. She understands how to protect the ball, she knows what’s happening at all times around her, and she has great vision while coming down the court with the rock. When you add all of this stuff together, it’s a recipe for success most of the time. I wouldn’t be surprised if Stowater got a look or two from the next level over these next few months. Her high school career may be over but she has proven over these past few years that she is good enough to at least make a roster and grind for a spot in my opinion.
