Sanders just helped the Lady Gamecocks win a Class 5A State Championship and finish the season at (25-0). Keziyah won’t light up the scoring column generally but she does make winning plays. She will jump on the deck for a 50/50 ball, go run down a rebound while probably the shortest player on the court. Keziyah plays with mean streak at times in her game. She’s quite the competitor on the hardwood. Sanders averaged 7.5 ppg this season.
Mintz really keeps the ball low to the deck with her play in the backcourt. Jordan will look to penetrate the gaps and attack the paint area when needed. She does feel comfortable playing out on the perimeter at times. Jordan has quick hands to cause some problems in the passing lanes. She averaged 9.2 ppg this season on a Lady War Eagles team that finished (19-12).
Carter finished her career with an injury and made a brief 5 second substitution in the Lady Bulldogs State Championship Game. Zyasia was very instrumental in the growth of the Lady Bulldogs program over the years. She finished her career with 1,041 points while averaging 9.4 ppg and 4.6 assists this season. Carter and the Lady Bulldogs won the past 2 SCHSL Class 3A State Championships.
Taylor and the Lady Bulldogs had a great run over the past 3 seasons. Ahminah averaged 15.8 ppg, 3.8 assists and 4.1 steals this season. Taylor likes to play the game 94 feet at times and excels in the transition game. She will manufacture points on the defensive end of the floor with her quick hands that lead into layups heading the other direction.
Thompson was a Class 4A All-State Selection this season for the Redhawks. Makiah scored over 1,000 career points for the Redhawks. She really does a nice job of using her body to fight off defenders on the way to the bucket. Makiah plays the game with some grit and toughness. She likes to have the ball in her hands down the stretch in a game. Thompson seems to be at her best while playing in attack mode.
Makiah averaged 15.7 ppg, 3.6 assists and 2.3 rebounds for the Redhawks (17-10).
Ford went out on a good note claiming a Class 1A State Championship for the Lady Gators. Jaleya scored 20 points in the Lower State Championship Game vs Military Magnet. She followed that up with a 21-point effort in the State Championship Game vs Denmark-Olar HS.
Jaleya finished her career with the Lady Gators with 1,707 points in 6 years of varsity of action. She plays the game with good basketball awareness and IQ. Jaleya understands on how to get her teammates involved in the game. She was able to set the table on several occasions in these two last games. Ford logged a lot of minutes and rarely went out of the game. She finishes drives to the bucket at a good clip. Jaleya averaged 21.9 ppg this season for the Lady Gators (26-4).
