Coach Speak: An Anonymous Coach Gives Their Take on 3A-District 3

I asked him to give an anonymous take on the following: 1st team all district, 2nd Team All District, District MVP, Defensive POY, and Freshman of the Year. This team would not be who they are without these two players. Clevenger knocks down big 3s and clutch free throws . Kitchen is the floor general on the team that hits the 3 and gets to the basket but she runs that offense. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Defensive Player of the Year</strong>- not going to lie I got 2 players I liked in and I do this by going back and finding film in on each. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>10- [player_tooltip player_id='410171' first='Jordan' last='White'] Northview she like a pesk in that she don't leave you alone no matter how much you swat it away. She is the motor for her team especially on defense she sets the tone. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>22- Fulton she is like a block party for herself. She changes player shots in the paint. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Freshman Of the Year -Carmine Carmichael- I think she played great. She is freshman that has her mistakes but she rebounds great. She is spot on from block to elbow </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Honorable Mentions:</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Jada Cummings </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='513245' first='Natavia' last='Alber'] </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Zion Thompson</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p> Kaylin Shutz </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:separator --> <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" /> <!-- /wp:separator --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I actually asked this coach for his/her thoughts before the region's substate games, and our coach's remarks seemed spot on! He gave huge praise to the two Cocke County stars 5-Blakelyn Clevenger &amp; 13-[player_tooltip player_id='804755' first='Halle' last='Kitchen']. Perhaps he knew something we didn't as they played incredibly substate games as the led Cocke County back to the promised land for the first time in a long time!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I also 100% agreed with [player_tooltip player_id='410171' first='Jordan' last='White'] as Defensive Player of the Year. She was superb for a Northview team loaded with vets, and White was able to come in and earn both minutes and her team's respect immediately. She not only spear headed their defensive attack, but was also an engine for them on offense. She's super quick to simply advance the ball ahead, and makes the right pass and makes it quick. Northview's offense was always better when she was on the floor. [player_tooltip player_id='410171' first='Jordan' last='White'] also gave great contributions as a rebounder, and stat lines like 8 points, 6 assists, and 5 rebounds felt like the norm.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:acf/evaluation-block {"name":"acf/evaluation-block","data":{"player_evaluations_0_player":["804755"],"_player_evaluations_0_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_0_evaluation":"I didn't think Kitchen got enough credit this year for the season she put together for Cocke County.  She was their MVP defensively and always seemed to take the toughest defensive assignments.  Kitchen also was incredibly steady running the show as the PG, and proved she can stretch the floor from 3, attack the paint and collapse the D, and serve as a facilitator that leads the offense and isn't scared to be a vocal leader.","_player_evaluations_0_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations":1,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"edit","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-65e5da9984f88"} /-->
