The Central Valley kids impressed me with their play and I came right back to my office and sat down to evaluate these girls we do not get to see often, they sure were worth the trip down to support this good event. 2025, 5’5, PG, Madera South HS, Briannah Lorta Briannah Lorta 5'5" | PG Madera South | 2025 State CA – lanky point guard with a nice handle, run the offense and is a tough defender on the floor. Can make the long three pointer off the catch. Made her opponents guard her otherwise it was gonna be nothing but buckets for them with ease, got to the lane and made paint touches and made plays for her teammates.
2026, 5’6, SG, Coalinga HS, Kylie Carpenter Kylie Carpenter 5'6" | SG Coalinga | 2026 State CA – decent size guard that is really aggresive on the defensive end of the floor, she is a good passer and runs the lane on the break to get easy baskets in transition. She showed us she is a competitor and she is not gonna give up on her teammates and try every way she can to get the win. She has a nice skillset and is still developing, but she is a problem on the floor for her opponents.
2025, 5’6, PF/C, Hanford West HS, McKenzee Bateman McKenzee Bateman 5'6" | SG Coalinga | 2025 State CA – nice forward type inside, can catch and finish in the paint off the dribble and off the catch. Also watched her off the catch, knockdown the three ball on a few occasions. Good rebounder as well, ate up the offensive glass to get putbacks and is a decent space eater at her size, she can step outside and score as well get to the rim.
2025, 5’8, SF, Coalinga HS, Jaelyn Bourdeau Jaelyn Bourdeau 5'10" | SF Coalinga | 2025 State CA – catches on the wing and knocks down three pointers, big lanky body and protects the ball at all cost when she is handling it. Can also attack the rim and is able to float it over the defense and can finish thru contact. She can also attack and pullup for the shot either it is midrange or three pointer. We enjoyed watching her play, she put on show for the crowd, this kid is tough in our opinion.
2024, 5’11, PF/C, Coalinga HS, Jozlynn Marshall – Another post player in the paint that can finish at the rim, understands the pick and roll game and is not afraid to set a hard screen on the opponent. She is a bruiser in the paint and ate up the offensive boards. Can make the midrange shot from the freethrow line. Steps into the passing lanes and gets steals and turns them into baskets. Looks to pass and make some good dimes to teammates.
2024, 5’2, SG, Coalinga HS, Julia Gressman – small guard who knows how to push the break and make shots at the rim, watched her finish between two people with the left off the break. Is capable of making the midrange and three pointer and is another willing defender on the floor. She can also rebound for her size, she got a few and got right into the break and looked for teammates, head is up on the dribble.
2030, 5’2, PG, Middle School, Gigi Scott – small scrappy guard with a decent crossover, she is able to defend and contain her opponent. This kids is a 6th grader and I was not even able to tell she was, she played in the 17U Division and held her own on the floor. This kid is gonna be special, she is already ahead of those in her class by a longshot.
