Desert Vista vs Xavier Prep Standouts

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>On Saturday March 2nd I attended the OPEN Final with <strong>Xavier Prep </strong>taking on the defending champs <strong>Desert Vista. </strong>Xavier got hot quickly off the jump with <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='205639' first='Sarah' last='Nakamura Miller']</strong> and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='588731' first='Irene' last='Noelle Guiamatsia']</strong> flexing what they can do. They took a 26-21 lead into halftime and it was 46-42 heading into the 4th quarter. DV fought back behind <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='588763' first='Dylan' last='Swindle']</strong> hot shooting but Xavier fought them off and won <strong>60-53</strong>. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Here were the Standouts</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='205639' first='Sarah' last='Nakamura Miller'] Xavier&nbsp;</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The <strong>Penn </strong>commit had a huge night in the finals. This was my first viewing of her and she impressed. She is a cerebral guard who can ball fake and go to the basket. She uses the pick and roll game to her advantage and will throw the assist. Her ability to change speeds about as well as you can, makes her the player she is and is always thinking the game. Also her three point shooting off the catch is high level. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='205638' first='Dominique' last='Nesland'] Xavier&nbsp;</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A strong point guard is a downhill scorer with her left or right hand thru contact. She can hit the catch three and seems to get to her spots with her tight handle. She is a very confident FT shooter, as it seems to be almost automatic at the line.  </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='588731' first='Irene' last='Noelle Guiamatsia'] Xavier</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>An imposing post player is a top of the food chain rebounder and is an unreal shot blocker. She cleans the glass with her sturdy frame and long arms. She will score with drop steps, off the pick and roll game and keeps the ball high in traffic to not get stolen.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='588763' first='Dylan' last='Swindle'] Desert Vista</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A scoring point guard has deep three point range with a quicker release and range for days. She can pull-up from mid-range and gets hot from the perimeter in a blink of an eye. She takes care of the ball and plays the game the right way.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='203873' first='Shay' last='Ijiwoye'] Desert Vista</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A downhill star is slippery to the basket to score in the paint with her tight handle and strong frame. She has strong hands to rip pockets to collect steals and is a phenomenal rebounder for her size. She will score on put backs and power layups.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='205646' first='Eanae' last='Dagons'] Desert Vista </strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A quick on quick point guard is one of the faster girls in the state. She can hit with mid-range pull-ups, catch threes and transition layups outracing the defense. She is very quick on the ball defensively.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='205643' first='Aniyah' last='Riddell'] Desert Vista</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The<strong> LMU </strong>commit is a tough handle deep inside the paint. She scores with pump fakes, multiple counter moves and drop steps into a layup. She will grab in-traffic rebounds with her strong hands and can come over and block a shot.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
