Alyssa Bullock continues to lead the way for Vance Charter during the 2023-2024 season. She leads her team in points, rebounds, assists, and steals per game. Bullock led her team to a win with 23 points, 22 rebounds, and 10 steals on Friday night. She is a fantastic sophomore who can shoot the basketball from anywhere on the court. Bullock has deep three-point range and is very creative in the lane with her shot selection.
Adelaide Jernigan dropped 24 points for Bishop McGuinness in a win over Hayesville on Friday night. She scored from the outside, she scored in transition, and Jernigan scored driving hard to the rim as well. She has a silky-smooth left-handed jump shot and the ability to post smaller players or drive past bigger players. Additionally, Jernigan has exceptional court vision. She finds her teammates on time and passes on target. Jernigan is a willing passer and has a high basketball IQ.
Emerson Thompson was incredible on the court for Falls Lake on Friday night. She scored 50 points for her team. Thompson shot 14 of 20 from the floor, 3 for 3 from behind the three, and connected on all 13 of her shot attempts from the foul line. Thompson also grabbed 18 rebounds, blocked 10 shots, and passed for 6 assists in the victory.
Zamareya Jones is a sensational all-around player. Last night, Jones helped her North Pitt team to a victory over Southeast Alamance. She dropped 35 points, and the Panthers won 86-62. In her senior season, the North Carolina State recruit is averaging 25 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 steals a contest.
Briana Hughes was extremely efficient on the court for Southern Durham High School on Friday. She connected on 7 of her 10 shots from the floor, 2 of 4 of her attempts from the three, and she was perfect from the foul line. When the defense would double Hughes, she found her teammates for multiple assists in the win. Hughes was also a beast on the boards. She collected 10 rebounds for the Spartans. Next season, Hughes will play college hoops at Wingate University.
