They were the only freshmen in the state to score at least 400 points:

As the daughter of former WNBA pro & current Rutgers Head Coach Coquese Washington, basketball surely runs through Rhaiyna’s blood. In her high school debut, she quickly put everyone on notice by dropping 23 points on Mother Seton en-route to a 35-31 win… and the onslaught just continued from there. She went on to not only lead all freshmen in scoring but also most of the state regardless of class at 24.9 ppg. With six 30+ point games, including a season-high 36, there wasn’t much opponents could do to stop her. Rhaiyna sliced her way to the hoop and was lethal way out behind the arc, knocking down 69 3-pointers! She accounted for a staggering 50% of Timothy Christian’s total points scored this season & is on pace to reach 1,000 points by the tail-end of her sophomore year! Wow. Just wow!

EAJS produced big-time numbers against some really tough competition. She dropped 24 points on Gloucester Catholic, 24 on Southern, 26 on Manasquan and a season-high 30 on Eastern. She currently has an active streak of 15 games in double-digit scoring! Her ability to score the ball efficiently at all three levels has lifted Lenape to heights they haven’t seen in half a decade: a Group 4 State Final. Defenders all year long have tried to face-guard, double-team and even triple-team her to no avail! Leading the Indians in scoring at 15.2 ppg, El-Anita has proven to be much more than just your average freshman!

Dani helped lead one of the smallest schools in Group 2 to the quarterfinals of North Jersey, Section 1, Group 2 in late February, the Lady Lions’ best showing in four years! She posted a jaw-droppingly impressive triple-double against Emerson Boro in addition to five double-doubles throughout the season. She was quick, aggressive and laser-focused. Dani recorded a season-high 34 points a part of that triple-double performance and at one point had twenty consecutive games where she scored in double-digits! She showed off her limitless range as well, knocking down 49 3-pointers and decimating opponents from deep.

Emma did a lot of her scoring from beyond the arc and boy was she DANGEROUS! With 64 3-pointers to her name, she scorched teams at an unextinguishable pace! She recorded seven 20+ points games, including a stretch of four consecutive. She also had a stretch of twenty-one straight games in double-digit scoring. Emma’s red-hot offense led Haddon Heights to the quarterfinals of South Jersey, Group 2 in late February.

One of the top rebounders in the state, Khalia proved she can tally the points just as furiously as she can pull down boards! With averages of 14.6 ppg and 16.3 rpg, her two-way game was in top tier from December through February. She posted five 20+ point games, including a season-high 23 against Vineland. She was one of three Villagers to score 400+ points this season and was a key contributor in their 11-1 conference record and quarterfinal showing in South Jersey, Non-Public A.

Glassboro is no stranger to superstar basketball players and Kezia is surely emerging as the program’s next big thing! In her first year with the Bulldogs, she put on a show in the regular season and torched conference foes: Nine 20+ point games including a season-best 29 in her high school debut vs Deptford, 48 3-pointers, a championship in the Tri-County Tournament- Flight B and a quarterfinal appearance in South Jersey, Group 1 where Glassboro would fall to eventual champion Wildwood. Kezia ran the point with incredible efficiency, knocking down shots from just about everywhere on the court and dishing out some sweet dimes to her teammates.

After losing seven seniors and about 80% of their scoring from a season ago, Tenafly had to turn to a team comprised of mostly freshman for scoring and production. Enter Zoe Wasserlauf Zoe Wasserlauf 5'6" | PG Tenafly | 2027 State NJ . She came in, did damage and led a very young Tigers team to a state tournament appearance in North Jersey, Section 1, Group 3. She had the hot hand all season long, recording two 30+ point games including a season-best 36 against Bergenfield and scoring in double-digits in eighteen contests. She was fearlessness and commanded the floor in all twenty-eight games played this season!
