We witnessed some of the best basketball played in Massachusetts to end the 2023-24 high school girls basketball season with the MIAA state championship games held two weekends ago. It's time to talk about some of the best players from those games and the best standout performances from Division I through Division V.

[player_tooltip player_id='272990' first='Julia' last='Webster'] - Bishop Feehan (2024)

It had been some seven, eight years since Bishop Feehan first took home hardware, but the Shamrocks wanted to end the drought this month. Behind the play of senior [player_tooltip player_id='272990' first='Julia' last='Webster'], they were able to do just that and more, taking home the Division I title over Wachusett. Webster was a fantastic watch in the 48-40 win, leading her team with 15 points against a tough opponent.

[player_tooltip player_id='269132' first='Mary' last='Gibbons'] - Wachusett (2024)

Wachusett's state title run came up just short in the Division I title game, a valiant effort put on by the Mountaineers. Senior [player_tooltip player_id='269132' first='Mary' last='Gibbons'] put her absolute all on the floor, leading all scorers in the game with 16 points, but she had to earn every shot, guarded heavily the entire time. While it didn't affect her much with productivity, Bishop Feehan made it a nightmare for the Mountaineers to score outside of her.

[player_tooltip player_id='1153116' first='Naya' last='Annigeri'] - Medfield (2027)

In the Division II final, we had yet another close game, this time a six-point final score between Medfield and South High, but in the end, the Warriors came out on top, 48-42. Unlike a number of state championship teams that have been senior-led, Medfield was led in its win by freshman [player_tooltip player_id='1153116' first='Naya' last='Annigeri'], who dazzled on the floor. She finished with a team-high 16 points, an incredibly impressive performance from an underclassman.

[player_tooltip player_id='273948' first='Camryn' last='Collins'] - Foxborough (2024)

Foxborough has been an absolute wagon in Massachusetts high school girls basketball. There's no other way to describe it. Two-straight Division III state titles, and at the center of it all, once again, was [player_tooltip player_id='273948' first='Camryn' last='Collins']. The senior showed up and showed out in what ended up being a 23-point win. She scored a game-high 27 points, 11 coming in the fourth quarter alone, to secure a much-deserved state title.

Addie Ruter - Foxborough (2025)

From one superstar on Foxborough to another, we head over to Addie Ruter, who was the frontcourt piece on the post making things happen for the Warriors. Collins provided the spark from outside and the midrange game, but Ruter manned the fort down low and held her post with ease. She finished with 17 points in the state title game and is a highly-anticipated piece returning for next season.

Kate Phillips - South Hadley (2027)

South Hadley made quite the run out of Western Massachusetts to reach the finals of the Division IV state tournament. The No. 3 seeded Tigers took down No. 2 seeded Tyngsborough in the semis, but came up short versus Cathedral in the final. However, there's much to be excited for, especially freshman Kate Phillips, who put up 11 points in the loss, showcasing a lot of undiscovered talent.

Malani Smith - Cathedral (2025)

What a banner day it was for Cathedral, taking home the Division IV state title handedly in a 20-point blowout win. Two players stood out on the day, beginning with the junior Malani Smith. She showcased great poise on the floor, ending up finishing with 15 points on the day. Smith was someone who had come up clutch for this program far too many times this season, so why not do the same on the biggest stage.

[player_tooltip player_id='287235' first='Jasmine' last='Day-Cox'] - Cathedral (2024)

Day-Cox will be headed off to play basketball at the next level, a budding college superstar in the making, but she needed to tick one last box on her high school to-do list. She did just that as Cathedral dominated in the D-IV state title game, and she was easily the star of the show, finishing with a 20-piece against South Hadley as the senior standout hoisted hardware once the final buzzer sounded.

Taylor Garabedian - Hoosac Valley (2024)

Hoosac Valley came through in the D-V state championship game with a dominating performance, highlighted by a 22-6 third quarter that gave the Hurricanes a 15-point lead going into the fourth. Leading the charge in the win was senior Taylor Garabedian, recording her sixth and final 20-point scoring performance of the season. She had 22 points for the Canes, a spectacular send-off while hoisting some hardware.

Abby Scialabba - Hoosac Valley (2024)

It was an onslaught of senior success for the Canes against West Boylston in the state title game, a win that capped off a 13-game winning streak to end the season. Of the senior contributors, Scialabba arguably had a career day with the lights shining brightest, scoring 16 points, two points off a career-high. She relished in added playing time, making her final game count the most.

[player_tooltip player_id='269134' first='Madison' last='Pitro'] - West Boylston (2024)

Unfortunately, Pitro and West Boylston came up short in the Division V state title game against Hoosac Valley, but what a going-out performance for the senior. She finished with a game-high 23 points for the Lions, a truly dominant performance for her in all offensive facets of the game. The offense for the Lions went through Pitro on the day, who ended up scoring 43.4 percent of their points in the loss, finishing as a state finalist.
