This is a simple choice as Corri has put up eye-popping numbers all season. In fact, for her entire career. She is the only player in Ohio history to have 2,200 points, 1,100 rebounds, 500 steals, 100 blocks in a career, and this year she averaged a double-double with 27 points and over 12 boards per game. She can score consistently from the perimeter, score off the move and finish on the break. Led her team to the state Final Four! Headed to Ashland next season.
The leader for one of the state’s most consistent programs ever as Hiland made another trip to the regionals. They fell short in overtime, but Ashley had another great season. She is a natural leader, fundamentally sound like all the kids in this program. Outstanding floor general and able to gravitate her game to the next level. A great all-around player who will take her talent to Ashland with Vermilya to lead a strong freshman class.
When I randomly saw her in the middle school championships a few years ago, I knew she was special. But she has really expanded her game and is the top point guard in the Dayton area. Taylee plays with so much maturity and after rehabbing from an ACL injury, she had an incredible season as a junior. Plays the point guard with so much poise, great passer with pinpoint accuracy and great vision. Has deep range and her game is getting better. She got every single Player of the Year award in her league and district.
A scoring machine from Northwest Ohio, Kendall finished off her incredible career with a great senior season. Unbelievable shooter with unlimited range, she can knock down shots for days. Smooth all around game, great handles and a leadership quality you don’t find in many players. She will head to Toledo to play her college ball. Shared POY in Northwest Ohio and averaged 22 points per game.
This young lady is only a sophomore, but her game is at the top of the charts in Northwest Ohio. Averaged 18 points per game, Honor has really grown her game over the past couple of years and she lands a spot on this prestigious team without any questions asked. She has great a skillset and has caught the eye of everyone in her region. Great athleticism and can beat you in a variety of ways.
This young lady is very talented and had another solid year for Columbus Grove, averaging 17.2 points per game. She is a good athletic guard with a solid perimeter game with excellent range. Plays with a high motor and always puts out a great effort. Good on-ball defender and does the little things for her team. She has plenty of room to grow her game as she is only a sophomore and while she doesn’t get as much credit as she likely deserves up in her area, she is a very legit prospect.
There are plenty of reasons why I am excited about the state tournament this weekend, seeing her play in person for the first time is up near the top of the list. Averaging over 20 per game, Cali is a player who can do whatever it takes for her team to success. She is a scorer, able to do well on the boards and can defend. She earned a chance to play at the next level.
Kendall has excellent length to her, and with her ability to anticipate the game she is able to make plays at both ends of the floor. She has active hands on defense and is an outstanding passer with court vision to make the tough pass. She steps up at clutch times which has help lead Waterford to Dayton this weekend. She was also Player of the Year in Southeast Ohio averaging just over 13 points per game.
