The 2027 is loaded with talent and with players who play the small forward position as well as shooting guard position. A few of these athletes are strong enough to mix it up on the inside and split duties at both forward positions. Players at this position can run the floor, shoot the rock, handle the ball, and also rebound the ball. In this article we look at a few small forwards in the 2027 rankings who are some of the best in the State at the forward position.

[player_tooltip player_id='811751' first='Madi' last='Mignery'] had a great Freshman season. She played on a very talented team and she more than held or on and held down the Forward position. Mignery averaged a double double for the season (10.8 points and 10.8 rebounds). Mignery is a very polished player who looks like a college player when watching her skillset. She can shoot it on the outside, and she is a beast in the paint with incredible footwork. Mignery can also pass the ball and handle it as well. She is a force in the rebounding department and her effort in this area is about will and determination as much as it is about talent. Mignery is a competitor and a player will have to “bring it” to compete with her on the basketball court.

[player_tooltip player_id='400813' first='Asiana' last='McCreary'] had a good season as a Freshman and she will continue to improve her game. McCreary has a versatile game and can play on the inside and outside. McCreary was a standout at the Freshman Expo where she showcased an inside game as well as a shooter's game on the outside. The young forward can also rebound the ball. It's that versatility that makes McCreary a coveted prospect. She is poised for a big summer as well as a special Sophomore season.

[player_tooltip player_id='743522' first='Samantha' last='Coble'] played well this season and is a very versatile forward who does a little of everything. Coble plays well on the outside where she connected on 30 threes for the season. Coble averaged over 7 points and 3.5 rebounds per game. Coble is also a good defender. She has good length and gets steals with her ability to read the opponent, read situations, and play in the passing lanes. Coble was also a standout at last year's Freshman Expose.

[player_tooltip player_id='221605' first='Alyssa' last='Hill'] is one of the most versatile players in the 2027 class. The Freshman Hill played on the wing, played at the shooting guard position, and also handled the ball as well. Hill can attack off the bounce and she can shoot the J from a distance.

[player_tooltip player_id='873422' first='Cherish' last='Wiggins'] averaged 8.4 points per game and almost 8 rebounds per game as a Freshman. Wiggins plays both ends of the floor and really embraces the defensive side of the ball. She rebounds, gets steals, and blocks shots. Wiggins had one game with 6 blocked shots. Wiggins is an agressive player on defense and can shoot the three with finesse. Wiggin's versatility stands out as a Freshman.

These 18 Small Forwards listed in the table below have made impressions as some of the best ballers in the Freshman class. We will continue to watch all of these players over the summer AAU season and see what growth they make between now and the end of the summer. Moreover, we will monitor their development between now and the beginning of the next high school season.
