Madison Taylor Madison Taylor 5’2″ | PG Riverdale | 2027 State TN ’27 is a SNIPER. She’s small in stature, but plays big. I’ve told a million kids: if you’re small, you better be a GREAT shooter if you want to play college ball. Well, someone told Taylor the same and she listened because the kid is turning heads so far this spring. In three games she knocked down seven 3’s against high caliber competition. She has great instincts regarding how to get her shot off at her size: finding the soft spots vs a zone, reading the helping and sliding “up or down the line” accordingly. Really like her game.
The kid can just plain hoop. She put up a 19 point performance on 9/13 shooting (I don’t teach math…but that’s 70%….and I’m pretty sure thats good). She did all her work in the paint, and I didn’t even see her her attempt a three. She’s got great instincts in the paint regarding how to use her shoulders, initiate contact, when to head fake, step-through, give an extra pause to throw off the defender’s timing, etc. She followed up the 19 point game with a 17 point game. She was just unstoppable. When she catches deep, she’s a bucket. She also can sit down and guard, and I have her graded as a plus rebounder. Really like the efficiency and IQ of her game, and as she extends her range she has HUGE upside.

Extremely under the radar 2025. All the kid does is figure out how to win basketball games. She defends her tail off. Makes the right pass, and does a great job as a “connector” on the offensive end. Versus FBC Next Up she knocked down two huge threes when it was winning time. There is a reason Coach Mains like her so much!
Watch her play and you can tell that 1) she’s been really well coached, and 2) she’s used to winning at NVA. She made a big impact on both sides of the ball all weekend, and was deadly from 3. She’s a kid that really knows how to score at 2 levels (4/7 from three one game, 2/5 from thee another). As she continues to build confidence attacking the rim, she has a lot of room for growth in her game!

She’s a guard that electrifying in the open court. If you let her get loose in transition off an outlet, turnover, etc she’s going to make you pay. A really gifted scorer around the rim, she also impressed with her court vision and ability to get her teammates involved. In the half court, she’s simply a force with the ball in her hands and she’s great and changing speeds, using her body and getting to the rim. Impacted the game on both ends, and proved to be a reliable scorer all weekend.
Plays with a “swagger” that’s hard to deny. A high-IQ point guard that makes winning plays. Immediately on the outlet catch–watch her eyes. In the blink of an eye, she goes into attack mode–but wisely looking the pitch ahead as opposed to over-dribbling (a problem I seeing plaguing a lot kids). Puts passes on time and on target. Defensively makes an impact and isn’t scared to get on the floor and battle for 50/50s. Not going to put up eye popping scoring numbers, but if you know the game, you immediately recognize her value is in making her teammates better.
