<p>Continuing my current series of scouting reports on the Class of 2024 before graduation next month, here is a report that features players who were shutdown defenders and among the state's leaders in steals.</p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='810188' first='Angelique' last='Gowan-Britt'], </strong>5'5”<strong>, </strong>PG, Highland Park</p>

<p>The Topeka guard had a huge season for the Highland Park Scotties. She unofficially led Kansas in steals with 5.1 per game. She also posted lofty numbers that included scoring 13.6 points per game and averaging six rebounds and 6.4 assists per contest. She has quick hands and quicker feet.</p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='265130' first='Mayce' last='Russell']</strong>, 5'6”, PG, Macksville</p>

<p>The Mustang senior is a solid two-sport prospect. She finished with five steals per contest in 16 games for Macksville. She averaged 15.1 points and five steals in 73 career games. She is a solid passer and is willing to crash the boards. Russell was also a six-rotation volleyball player for the Mustangs who finished with more than 1,000 digs during high school and a total of 838 kills.</p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='192785' first='Alaina' last='Eck']</strong>, 5'4”, PG, Little River</p>

<p>Eck a spunky point guard for the Redskins finished her senior season with an average of 4.8 steals per game. That represented the highest total of her high school career. She averaged 14.9 points per game as a senior and averaged double-digit scoring totals over her last two high school seasons.</p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='396399' first='Leela' last='Jones'], </strong>5'3”, PG, Wichita Southeast</p>

<p>Jones takes care of the ball of offense and turns opponents over on defense. She finished with an impressive total of 4.6 steals over 19 games. In three years of varsity action, she averaged at least four steals per season. She also scored 9.2 points and collected 5.8 rebounds per contest for the Golden Buffalo.</p>

<p><strong>Abigail Rodriguez, </strong>5'6”, PG, Otis-Bison</p>

<p>The Otis-Bison Cougar point guard recorded 4.5 steals per game. She contributed in multiple statistical categories averaging 3.2 assists, 3.7 rebounds, and 9.5 points per contest.</p>
