And while the gridiron may still be near and dear to the hearts of many Georgians, one must not overlook the litany of talent that has been produced out of this state over the years.
The travel circuit has been one of the primary proving grounds to produce this talent. In today’s robust AAU climate in Georgia, one of the primary teams fans are on the lookout for is Wood Elite . The “Wood” is a reference to coach Quinton Wood and it not only fields girls club teams, but boys teams as well.
Without further adieu, here is a look at the Wood Elite 17U team.
Lily Conkell Lily Conkell 5'4" | PG Woodstock | 2025 State GA – Conkell is one of two players from 6A Woodstock that make up this year’s travel roster. In the 26 games that Conkell played for the Wolverines last season, she averaged 13.4 points and 2.4 steals per game.
Tocarra Stagnaro – Following a 17-9 season Stagnaro’s Westlake team compiled in 2023-24, the Lions will head to the 6A ranks beginning the following campaign. She stands at 5-foot-4 and is the only Westlake player on the AAU roster.
Bree Rogers Bree Rogers 5'6" | CG Woodstock | 2025 State GA – Rogers will bring natural chemistry with Conkell given they both represent Woodstock. She is listed at 5-foot-6. She averaged 9.3 points, five rebounds and 3.2 steals in 23 games last season.
Sa’Niah Dorsey Sa’Niah Dorsey 5'6" | PG Calhoun | 2025 State GA – 5A Calhoun will be represented on this year’s Wood Elite 2025 roster in the form of Dorsey. This past season, Dorsey reached a career milestone when she approached the 1,000-point threshold.
Senai Camper Senai Camper 5'7" | SF Cartersville | 2025 State GA – Camper was part of a Cartersville rendition this past season that made a deep run in the 5A tournament all the way to the semifinals. She is a gifted rebounder in addition to being a scorer.
Mo Slocum – Slocum’s 6A Rome team has been used to compiling 20-win seasons. It did so once again this past season. She is one of two representatives from the Wolves that make up this year’s Wood Elite 2025 roster.
Amaya Harris Amaya Harris 5'8" | PG Hillgrove | 2025 State GA – With the elimination of the 7A classification, Hillgrove will become a 6A team beginning in 2024-25. She competed in 28 games last season and averaged 9.3 points and 2.1 steals.
Jermiya Winston Jermiya Winston 5'10" | SG Rome | 2025 State GA – Winston has something in common with her Wood Elite 2025 Dorsey – they both reached the 1,000-point plateau this past season. She displays her versatility with an ability to play at either the two, three or four.
Chloe VanDyke Chloe VanDyke 6'0" | SF South Paulding | 2025 State GA – VanDyke took to the court on 29 occasions last season as part of 6A South Paulding. She averaged 10.4 points, 7.2 rebounds and 1.8 per game. VanDyke is listed at a tall 6-foot-1.
Kaleigh Calloway Kaleigh Calloway 6'1" | C Cherokee | 2025 GA – This year’s Wood Elite 2025 roster has two players that are listed at six feet or more. Calloway of 7A (soon to be 6A) Cherokee is one of those. She is the lone representative from the Warriors on this year’s club team.

July 11-16: Run 4 The Roses – Louisville, KY (NCAA Live Period) (Elite 40 Session 2)
July 20-22: National Championship – Louisville, KY (NCAA Live Period) (Elite 40 Session 3)
