Maris Zurliene (Southern Illinois Hawks 17U): A very talented 6’0″ 2025 guard from Breese Mater Dei in Southern Illinois who was a difficult cover with her height and diverse skill set on the perimeter. She has a pretty extensive offensive bag with her ability to create offense off the dribble and score from all three levels. She also has plays very well in the lane off of two feet with a variety of moves and the ability to shoot over smaller defenders.

Emma O’Brien (Lady Lightning 17U): A 6’1″ 2026 wing player from Lyons Township (IL) who was one of the more versatile offensive talents that I watched during the weekend. She was an excellent downtown shooter who could create off the dribble or also come off screens ready to shoot. She was also very effective around the basket as she would use her height and shooting touch inside.
******
Taylor Trame (Southern Illinois Hawks 16U): A talented 5’11” 2026 guard from Breese Central (IL) who I really like because of her on-court demeanor. Even with the pressure of a highly competitive game, she remained unfazed as she had talent and excellent fundamentals. She was also a three-level scorer who was very difficult to defend.

Sharon Riis (Kentuckiana 17U): A 5’3″ 2025 point guard from Kentucky who was impressive with her high motor and high basketball IQ. She is a very aggressive defender who can put pressure on ball handlers and also dig down to take the ball away from post players. She could also shoot it well from 3-point range.

Grace Bale (Richmond Heat 17U): A 2025 guard from Kentucky who was really shooting well from long distance in the game that I watched her. She moved well without the ball to get herself open and was also dangerous against a zone defense. She also had a very effective runner in the lane.

Madelyn Madison (Ball Hogg Academy 15U): A 5’9 2027 wing from Alton (IL) who impressed me with her versatility and good fundamentals. She could handle the ball and facilitate offense. She is also physically strong and can handle herself inside.
