Continue ReadingDavis is a LIGHTS OUT three-point shooter. Her shot is fluid and the way she effortless shoots it means she has the potential to shoot the long ball from deep. Her versatility was on full display, as frequent ball screens were set when she caught the ball on the wings or the top of key. Davis made nice reads attacking gaps to get inside, or if enough room was given she shot the three ball. Only a sophomore, Davis has more time to sharpen an already lethal shot. Big name player.
Kinsey is a crafty guard that has the ability to set the tone for her team. She has a beautiful hesitation move that she uses to shake defenders off to get to the basket. When opponents begin to play off of her to limit her drive to the basket, she is able to pull and connect on the long three.
Highlights
Powerful player that can play all five positions. Whether she is on the low block or out on the perimeter, she is not getting stripped while dribbling. This includes while facing the double team. Beyond handles that are polished for a player her age and 6’3 size, Bell sets very effective screens. She sets her feet, and these big screes create a lot of space for her teammates to attack. Bell is dominant on the boards as well.
Hill does a little bit of everything for her team. In this setting, I would deem her a glue player, meaning she held her team together. She is a smart decision maker, and makes beautiful skip passes. These diagonal passes help get her teammates involved. She can handle the perimeter pressure and gets to the rack at ease. She has a strong midrange jumper.
Jada Patterson
Jada Patterson
Patterson consistently knocked down threes to help her team stay in the team. Beyond her shooting capability, she is a wing that runs the floor wide in transition. Her presence around the perimeter means teams have to extend their defense. So when Patterson’s squad has numbers in a 3 on 2 transition, she places the defense in a chokehold as they can’t leave her open for the long ball but they don’t want leave the paint open to give up an easy deuce either. She crashes the boards well and has a lot of upside to her game.
This 6’2 rising sophomore is more than WORTHY of all the recognition she is receiving after the April live period. I first spotted her throwing a one handed full court Dime to a teammate for a two-point finish. The pass being one handed and full court was more impressive because her teammates was not open. Worthy had to thread the needle to get the ball in her teammate’s hands. She is an elite rebounder and an overall big time player. Plays like the one I caught are not rare for Worthy and the scary thing is she is only a freshman with size, speed and strength.
