What I haven’t discussed is how much talent this class possesses has shot through the roof. Within this class you have some major difference makers, game changers, and X factors. These are the girls who move the needle in my opinion. Yes they move it for themselves, but also they are the engine that makes their ball club run.
Let me go a little more in depth with what I am trying to prove. These girls have the intangible to be great two way players who can score the basketball but also contribute on the defensive end. When you add both of those qualities to the mix, it becomes a lethal combination. In the 25 class, you have some solid kids who compete their tails off and won’t be denied. Hungry individuals who go out and get the job done. Doesn’t matter the locale or the classification , these girls show up to show out.
The 2025 class is special. It’s hard to say they are the best class, however I could argue that they are rich in talent. I do believe this class will have a lot of girls play at the next level. That’s just my opinion. At the end of the day, it’s not for me to decide, but collegiate coaches do need to take notice of the talent we have in this state and within this class.
Enough of my ranting, check out the young ladies who have increased their stock from the class of 2025.
Ella Ryan Ella Ryan 5'10" | PG Brentwood | 2025 State TN (5’10/Jr./G/ Brentwood)– She might not have moved up the rankings much, but this girl has increased her game all around. Offensively, she is tough to stop as she can put it on the floor with ease, pull from the arc, make timely assists, and really just takes the pressure off of her teammates. Ella plays with poise, has incredible court vision, and seems to be always locked in. Can sit down and guard, grab boards, and really contributes to whatever her team needs. Though she can score the rock (hints she is breaking records), I feel she is one of the most selfless players who picks her spots to exploit, but also gets her teammates involved early and often. Solid kid who just wants to hoop all the time.
Carsyn Swaney Carsyn Swaney 5'11" | PG Heritage | 2025 State TN (5’11/Jr./G/ Heritage)– This 1,000 pt scorer just keeps getting better. A heady ball player who yes can score, but also facilitates within the offense. She changes speeds well, challenging defenders on the way to the cup. Hands down, knock down, she won’t hesitate to pull it from 3. Finds the open girl for an easy bucket and will mix it up on the defensive end. Her play has shot through the roof as she has been nominated for multiple post season awards. A high character kid who plays the game with a passion.
Amaya Redd Amaya Redd 5'10" | SF Knox. Catholic | 2025 State TN (5’11/Jr./F/ Knox. Catholic)– She’s shot out the bottle. Amaya is playing the game more freely and with confidence. She’s shooting it well from all spots on the floor. Getting to the rim, knocking down open shots, the ball is finding the bottom of the net at a consistent clip. What I like too is she is being a nuisance on the defensive end, locking up her girl, getting steals or jumping passing lanes from play off the ball. She has turned into a real solid two-way player that the coach can’t take off the floor. Has great energy and effort and is truly climbing the charts and turning heads along the way. Solid ball player who has a bright future ahead of her.
Ciara Thomas Ciara Thomas 6'2" | PF Trezvant | 2025 State TN (6’2/ Jr. /F/ Trezevant)– Blessed with skill and height, this kid has been making a lot of noise. She did her thing this past high school season and look for that momentum to carry throughout the summer. This kid runs the floor well, but finishing is what I like about her. She is a multi-effort kid who just gets after it. Offensively, she puts it in the cup, using her size and body to challenge defenders. Defensively, she is blocking shots, gaining rebounds, and owning her area. This kid is on an upwards swing and is an exciting prospect to watch.
Dacarra Ward Dacarra Ward 6'2" | C Bartlett | 2025 State TN (6’2/Jr./C/ Bartlett)– The more time on the floor she earned, the more confident she got. Once she secured her role on the club, she paved her way into a productive starter. She can score in the painted area, but it’s the other little things she does well. Setting solid picks, offside rebounding, communication, solid on the defensive end, defensive rebounds, pretty much anything that consists of anchoring the middle. She had a solid year at the 5 spot where she stepped up in a big way. Such a solid kid who will continue to grow and make an impact for this ball club. Look for her to have a good summer and come back even stronger next year.
Lazavionna Hawkins (5’5/Jr./PG/Goodpasture)– Don’t let her size fool you, she is a bucket. A tremendous PG who can score from all three levels, get to the rim, hit open teammates, lockdown defend, and really just brings the juice every night. Her energy is infectious and she was the leading catalyst for her club leading them towards an amazing playoff run. Though they came up short, her stock has shot through the roof. She is a tough ball player who just gets it done. No matter the opponent, location, summer season or high school ball, she comes to play and packs a mighty punch with her style of play. Teams struggle with trying to bottle her up. Look for her to attract even more collegiate coaches’ eyes this travel ball season.

(5’11/Jr./CG/ Lakeway Christian)– I just love her game. I mean she is an all-around solid player who just loves to hoop. Possesses some nice handles, great court vision, can get to the cup with ease, and of course pull it from multiple spots on the floor. I know she is a gym rat, but when it’s game time, she shines even brighter. She had a phenomenal school season, eclipsing many records along the way. With great size and length, she contributes on the floor in every statistical category. A fun and solid prospect who will continue to make noise throughout the remainder of her high school season. Look for her to have a big time summer and be in contention for even more awards come next school ball season. College coaches, keep this young lady on your radar.
