Skyler King, Belpre, CG, 5-0 – King has a lot going on for her on the basketball court. A lot. Namely, her shot from inside and outside are already ahead of many in her age range. She’s deadly from mid-range and can shoot the 3-ball consistently. She’s got great handles and can bring the ball up the court under pressure. In addition, she’s the best help defender in this tight knit group. Her quickness and agility will come with age. But, right now, she’s definitely someone to watch as her future unfolds.
Tayeler Stobart, Trimble, PG, 4-7 – Coaches will want to pay close attention to this fourth grader. She’s very advanced for her age. She’s deadly when she drives to the basket and reminds her head coach of Spring Valley’s Brooklyn Ellis Brooklyn Ellis 5'9" | SF Spring Valley | 2026 State WV in how she is snake-like when she drives to the rim. She’s an extremely smart rebounder. You won’t have to call a lot of plays for her. She scores most of her points off steals and put-backs. She’s aggressive in the front court pass. She’s a smart passer and sees the court well. When it comes to how advanced she is? Well, she’s already playing point guard for Trimble’s fifth-grade team.
Claire Goodfellow, Federal Hocking, G, 4-6 – Goodfellow doesn’t realize how good she is just, yet. But, her confidence has definitely soared over the past two tournaments. She’s shown off an extremely aggressive attitude on defense. She’s hit her mid-range jumpers consistently. And, above all else, she’s show that she’s a very good decision maker on the floor.
Bronwyn Sheppard, Lubeck, G, 4-5 – There’s a lot of growth still left to come in Sheppard. She shoots the mid-range shot well and handles the ball well but she still is working on her court vision. She has plenty of time. She’s not scared to shoot the ball, drives the ball well, and is developing the beginnings of being able to create her own shot with a step-back. The pieces are all there for this young lady to be special when she arrives at Parkersburg South.
Libbi Regan, Alexander, F, 4-10 – Regan is already a smart basketball player. Oh yes. The kid knows how to rebound, she sets good screens, and she’s a great middle stop gap as she searches for steals in the Dragons press. She knows how to play every position and leads her team from the forward spot. The thing I love most about her is that she is undersized for her position, but she loves to bang around down on the block with the big kids for points and rebounds.
Audrey Wilford, Alexander, G, 4-3 – Wilford might be the smallest kid on the team, but she’s got a lot going for her on the court. She’s already knows how to create her own shot, or take a charge. You can tell she’s learned how to be crafty about making her shot selection because she rarely takes a bad shot. She’s clearly taught herself and worked on creating her own shot. My favorite part about her? Her competitiveness. She’s not afraid to take a charge or work for her shot.
Elynn Wyer, Wirt County, C, 5-4 – Elynn Wyer already shows strong signs of being a potential 4. No really. Athleticism drips off of her. She handles the ball. She doesn’t have to be set down in the post, despite her height. If she is sits in the post, she’s owns a drop-step she can turn to. My favorite thing about her is that she is an old-school player with back-to-bucket and face-up moves in the low post. She can score on a put-back or she can attack a defender’s front foot and undercut her to get to the basket. If she continues to work on her footwork and low post game, she will have a choice when she gets older – volleyball or basketball?
