All of these players made the All-Region squad. Some of them were playing on State Tournament Saturday, and the only thing in some cases keeping them from an All-State jacket was that they had a great teammate on the squad already. While Dover and Seiling were able to have multiple players named to the All-State squad, limited spaces were available for some tremendous players. Small school Oklahoma basketball had a very strong Senior class in 2024.
Madi Barger
Madi Barger
Headed to Altus to play at Western next fall, Barger was a tough matchup for Lookeba opponents this year. A knockdown outside shooter, Barger averaged 10 points a night for the eventual Class B State Runners-Up. Teammate Ellie Willard Ellie Willard 5’7″ | SG Lookeba-Sickles | 2024 State OK got the All-State nod for Lookeba, but Madi was a terrific second option.
Putting in 15.8 points per game for the Texhoma Lady Red Devils, Jacqueline lead them to a second straight 20 win season. A 1,000 career point scorer, Jacqueline is headed to Hardin-Simmons University in Abeline to play basketball and be a part of the track and field team. In addition to her skills on the hardwood, Berry is one of the premier hurdlers in Oklahoma. The defending State Champion two years in a row in both the 100m and 300m hurdles, she will look to three-peat this coming weekend.
Averaging 13.3 points a game for Cashion, Lauren heads to SWOSU to continue her career next season. The Sharpshooting point guard joined the 1,000 point club this season, leading Cashion to 20 wins and an Area Tournament appearance.
Empire had perhaps the best season in school history, making the State Tournament for the first time ever. Led by All-Stater KK Smith, and point guard Kenley Lemons Kenley Lemons 5’6″ | CG Empire | 2024 State OK , Empire finished the season with a 24-4 record. Transferring to Empire her Junior season from Comanche, Lemons averaged 13points, 4 assists, and nearly four steals per game this year. I was up close and personal as Kenley crossed the 1,000 career point threshold, as they came against my Binger-Oney Lady Bobcats in the Regional Tournament. Truly one of the best players I coached against this year, expecting big things as she takes her talents to NOC-Enid next season.
Teammate Addison Hartman picked up the All-State nod for the Oilerettes, but Ella Porter Ella Porter 5’7″ | CG Merritt | 2024 State OK had as good of a case as anyone for an All-State jacket. Guarding the other team’s best player every night, Porter averaged 10 a game for the Class 2A State Champions. Hitting the game-winner to go to State her sophomore season, Merritt was ranked #1 for much of her junior season before an untimely exit. Ella has signed to play at Northwestern Oklahoma State University next year.
Makiah Quetone
Makiah Quetone
A case could be made for several players being the best player for the MVG Lady Tigers. The arrival of coach Richard Carney brought with it two very good post players in his two daughters, while guard Rowyn Fite Rowyn Fite 5’6″ | SG Mountain View-Gotebo | 2026 State OK was an offensive force. The 5’1 dynamo Makiah was a nightmare for opposing guards, as the Mountain View press was too much for inferior opponents to handle. Quetone averaged 10 points per night, and was the high scorer with 17 in the Lady Tigers State Quarter-Final loss to Hammon. Makiah was named to OGBCA All-Star by Class team, helping lead Mountain View-Gotebo to a 27-2 record on the year.
Kalyn Forsythe
Kalyn Forsythe
The Wilson (Ardmore) forward was tremendous at getting to the basket. Cuts and moves well, very good finisher. Averaged 14 points and 10 rebounds a night for an 18 win Wilson team.
