This upcoming weekend I will be out in Appleton to cover our PGH Legacy Region Finals Event. At this event I will be around watching all different age groups throughout the two days, in hopes of seeing some really good basketball. In this article I highlight a couple of teams that I'm excited to see compete while I'm there.

- [program_tooltip program_id='712778' first='Purple' last='Aces'] 2027 National -

The [program_tooltip program_id='712778' first='Purple' last='Aces'] program always brings a great product to the table. Their teams are usually stacked with a lot of height, skill, and knowledge of the game across all positions. Along with this, their team's are usually pretty deep. They have multiple players that can step up if need be at every spot. With this 2027 group particularly, they bring a lot of height to the floor with the handful of Forward prospects. Multiple players listed right around 6'0 with some others around 5'9-5'10. If they use this advantage and stick to their principles, I'm sure they are going to put together a nice weekend as a whole.

- [program_tooltip program_id='713145' first='Wisconsin' last='Blizzard'] 2026 Hawley -

I am not going to be covering much of 16 or 17U action this weekend but a team I will get over to see at least once that is playing 16U is the [program_tooltip program_id='713145' first='Wisconsin' last='Blizzard'] 2026 Hawley group. This group features two prospects that return to this program once again, in [player_tooltip player_id='636285' first='Rayanna' last='Jenkins'] and Lily Kejo, that were standouts last year for the Blizzard whenever I watched them perform and I'm hoping for more of the same this weekend. There are a good amount of respectable prospects on this team and within this program but the two that really killed it last year were Jenkins and Kejo, whenever I happened to be watching. Since then I know that one of them, if not both, have received some sort of collegiate interest to compete at the next level in the near future. This team runs a lot of quick action down the floor, trying to beat their opponents to their spots most of the time. If they can't do that, then they will back it out and run some fast moving offense in attempts to score. I'm not sure how they will do overall this weekend but they have a lot of weapons that can win them the contest in the end so we will just have to wait and see how it all plays out.

- [program_tooltip program_id='715980' first='Team' last='Iowa'] 2027 Elite -

[program_tooltip program_id='715980' first='Team' last='Iowa'] usually brings a group of ladies that are ready to perform and leave it all on the court. Their program as a whole runs a lot of great action on both sides of the ball, usually keeping it simple but efficient on offense and something confusing on defense. This weekend there are not too many teams in age group competing. I would expect this 2027 group to be one of the better teams competing in the 15U age group. They are deep into their AAU season and have figured some things out. If they do their usual work of leaving it all on the floor, I'm sure their weekend will be an enjoyable one.

- [program_tooltip program_id='713047' first='Wisconsin' last='Shooters'] 2029 -

If you take a look at the starting lineups and complete rosters of all the teams in the 2029 division, you notice two things right away. First, you notice that the tallest prospect listed belongs to the [program_tooltip program_id='712778' first='Purple' last='Aces'] 2029 National group with [player_tooltip player_id='874409' first='Pacyn' last='Stoffel'] at 6'0. Second, you notice that the tallest team by far out of this age group is this [program_tooltip program_id='713047' first='Wisconsin' last='Shooters'] 2029 team with four different prospects listed around 5'9-5'10. Now height doesn't mean everything but at this age, it means something and I think that it could matter over the course of a game. Obviously the prospects need to be coordinated and skilled in their own right but it never hurts to have some size at this level. I could see the Shooters doing really well these next few days. I have yet to see their women's sider perform so I'm excited to see what they can put together.
