Kahlen Robinson may be a listed as a PG but her mixture of athletic ability and knowledge of the game helped her dominate her matchups this weekend at every position she played. Robinson was the prospect over the past few days that made herself available in every ideal situation and because of that, she scored a bunch of buckets and was productive on almost every possession down the floor. She was either running in transition and beating everyone down the court for an easy bucket or she was taking her opponent off the dribble for a solid finish at the rim. Either way, she was producing at a high rate on the offensive side of the ball, while playing some sound defense and that stood out in each contest she played in at this event.

[player_tooltip player_id='859436' first='Adalyn' last='Voss'] is coming off of such a good event, she received a D1 offer to compete following this weekend from Marshall. Voss is your ideal guard that does a little bit of everything for her team. She was facilitating after she created off the dribble, she was scoring the ball from all three offensive levels when the opportunities presented themselves, and she was getting to the spots she wanted to on both sides of the floor at Will. She demonstrated that she has a smart head on her shoulders and she understands not to force action that might not be there when she has the ball in her hands. This is a program that runs a lot of good offensive sets and Voss has displayed that she can control her team's offensive tempo while running those sets. That's something that collegiate programs love to see when recruiting someone at this level.

[player_tooltip player_id='886652' first='Emily' last='Schmidt'] is a prospect that stood out this weekend to everyone watching because of her consistency. Every time that I walked by to see Schmidt compete, she was keeping the tone of the game in check. What I meant by that is, she was running her team's offense, while making sure that the pace of the game stayed consistent when her team moved to defense. The best way that I could describe Schmidt's play-style is even toned and consistent. She is never too high and never too low, no matter what is going on around her and she always seems to be in the right place at the right time for her team. Schmidt is going to be a Senior this next season of high school ball and it could turn out to be her best season yet to date if she plays to her full capabilities.

This was the first weekend I had a chance to see [player_tooltip player_id='909489' first='Alaina' last='Dreckmeier'] compete live and honestly, I was impressed. Dreckmeier is your ideal Point Guard, that doesn't force any action. This might seem simple or be an easy concept to understand but most players out of the 2028 Class don't understand it. They always seem to force passes or throw turnovers because of their decision making but not Dreckmeier. Instead, she just lets the game come to her. She understands when she should attack her 1v1 matchup and she doesn't get pressured too often when she is dribbling down the floor. In my opinion, she is a natural PG and she could turn out to be one of the best in Iowa before her high school career comes to a close. If she slowly expands her game to knock down deep jumpers consistently on rotation and she focuses on making others better around her, she is going to be a name we hear a lot about moving into her high school career this Fall.

When I sat down to watch the Midwest Meanstreets 2025 Nike team, they had 3 or 4 prospects that stood out to myself but one of the best was CG, [player_tooltip player_id='841181' first='Maya' last='Cobb']. Cobb earns her playing time on defense. She demonstrated this weekend that she has quick hands, active feet, great situational awareness, and she isn't afraid to mix it up with bigger opponents. She does a great job at jumping toward the basketball off of help-side and she doesn't give up on a play until the buzzer or whistle sounds. Don't get it twisted, she has a solid offensive bag as well but she did her best work on the defensive side over the past few days, standing out as one of the best defenders of the weekend at the guard position in my book.
