This past weekend the Girls EYBL Session 2 in conjunction with the Nike Tournament of Champions Spring Classic took place at the Arizona Athletic Grounds in Mesa. There was plenty of next level talent on display from court to court.

Here I take a look at more of the standouts that I personally watched:

[player_tooltip player_id='558895' first='Heather' last='Stedman'] Pinnacle (Southwest Premier 17u) – Stedman came out this week and showed why she is among the top players in the state. She consistently hit 3's and got to her mid-range game pretty much whenever she wanted.

[player_tooltip player_id='530989' first='Tysyn' last='Johnson'] Valley Vista (SW Premier 16U EYCL) – Tysyn was a blur with the ball from the tip off of the first game. With her low center of gravity, she was hard for defenses to stay in front of. On defense she often picked up full court making it difficult for ballhandlers.

[player_tooltip player_id='599374' first='Savannah' last='Helms'] Sandra Day O'Connor (Southwest Premier 17u TOC) – Helms is beginning to round back into her normal game after having to sit due to transfer rules. She has always been one of the better passers in her class, but she also showed she can be a threat offensively.

[player_tooltip player_id='660334' first='Mia' last='DiPuccio'] Seton Catholic Prep (VBC 17u National S40) – Mia looked very good showing off her versatile offensive skillset. She showed she can get the rebound and push the ball up court herself. She looked very comfortable operating on the perimeter as well the post.

[player_tooltip player_id='558901' first='Clara-Mae' last='Hrouch'] Catalina Foothills (Team Arizona Red) – Hrouch continued her recent hot shooting from three. She shot the ball with extreme confidence the entire weekend. She also played excellent on the ball defense by harassing ballhandlers game after game.

[player_tooltip player_id='639463' first='Eva' last='Vicki Amenhauser'] Estrella Foothills (Team Arizona Red) - Amenhauser played well in the post for the undefeated Team Arizona. She routinely beat the opposing bigs up court and was effective in the high post as well as the low post. She finished with either hand around the rim very well.
