There are a variety of reasons why obviously talented players do not get added to the rankings at the same time as their peers: 1) The player lacks exposure to scouts and college coaches, 2) the player is late in developing, either physically or skill-wise, or 3) your friends at Prep Girls Hoops simply missed the boat. In the case of [player_tooltip player_id='902452' first='Aubrie' last='Klug'], our highest-rated newcomer to the PGH Class of 2026 rankings, it's option #3 that most-accurately describes the situation. Yep, we blew it. This should have happened more than a year ago. Better late than never, one supposes, and we are pleased to kick off our look at newcomers to the 2026 rankings with the lengthy guard/wing from Caledonia.

THE TOP 5 NEWCOMERS

#62 [player_tooltip player_id='902452' first='Aubrie' last='Klug'] – forward, Caledonia ([program_tooltip program_id='712722' first='North' last='Tartan'] Southeast)

Aubrie's high school stats on MN Girls Basketball hub are incomplete, but among the seven games shown are back-to-back performances of 26 and 29-points. Google Klug's name and there are too many regional newspaper articles to count that cite her rather ample scoring feats on behalf of Caledonia. This spring and summer, we've seen first-hand how Klug can knock threes with a silky smooth motion and get to the rim to finish. She's opportunistic, too, and can create scoring chances for herself and her teammates on a regular basis. Of course, Aubrie can do so much more than just score.

Listed at 5'9, but looking much taller and longer than that, Klug's game has expanded over the years as she has filled out and gotten stronger. Playing AAU for a highly accomplished college coach like Jason Bonde of Rochester has helped her become more savvy, more versatile, and more valuable. Defensively her length and quickness cause havoc for opponents as she puts on pressure and creates turnovers. We love Klug's upside. Although she has arrived late to the Prep Girls Hoops prospect list, her #62 ranking is a good indicator that we think she can be a scholarship-level prospect.

#92 [player_tooltip player_id='889762' first='Savannah' last='Sullivan'] – point guard, Rothsay (Minnesota Venom)

Love at first site. If there's such a thing in basketball scouting, Savannah would fall into that bucket. We saw her this spring with Minnesota Venom and followed up with a couple more viewings. Talking to high school coaches who have had to game plan for Savannah's capabilities, they echoed our sentiments, as well. About 5'9, with a significant wingspan, Sullivan went head to head at the Suns Spring Showcase with one of Minnesota's top prospects in [player_tooltip player_id='600748' first='Kaja' last='Nash'] of Southwest Christian. That was a great measuring stick for Savannah, who quickly proved she was up to the task.

Sullivan is from Rothsay, just down Interstate 94 from Fargo-Moorhead. With super-quick feet, a silky-smooth shooting motion, and a terrific set of ball skills, Sullivan immediately makes it obvious why she has already scored in excess of 1,000 points in high school play. Sullivan has demonstrated a high basketball IQ, excellent court vision, a great sense of timing and feel for the game, along with poise and court presence. She is a also highly energetic and vocal defender. This winter she averaged 19 points per game and shot over 48% from the field.

#98 [player_tooltip player_id='502574' first='Haylie' last='Wolbeck'] – guard, Royalton ([program_tooltip program_id='767539' first='Minnesota' last='Comets'])

Our third newcomer to crack the top 100, Wolbeck has proven herself in multiple settings this spring and summer after an excellent high school season. People are starting to take notice. Just this weekend at Summer Jam we fielded questions about Haylie from numerous college coaches at multiple levels. With demonstrated improvement, and a track record of producing results on a consistent basis, the expanding attention for Wolbeck is well-deserved.

Haylie is long, moves very well, and gets up and down the floor at pace. She's not particularly flashy but Wolbeck is a high-IQ player who brings a diverse skill set to the table. A varsity regular since the 8th grade, Wolbeck's game has shown steady improvement. Her high school numbers tell the story as Wolbeck set school records for rebound and steals while averaging nearly 12 points, 5 assists and 5 steals per game. Defensively her length and aggressiveness are a weapon. She rebounds well, forces turnovers and blocks shots, and she is only going to get better at the next level.

#108 [player_tooltip player_id='894002' first='Jayden' last='Sonnenberg'] – guard, Frazee (ND Pro)

Jadyn started the spring/summer season with Inspired Athletics out of Fargo and has since moved back to ND Pro where she is now playing up a year. Truth is, Sonnenberg is capable to playing on most AAU teams, regardless of level or location. The 5'11 combo guard has excellent speed and quickness. and plenty of natural athleticism, too. Jayden is truly explosive, with the type of bursts of speed and elevation that can't be taught, only inherited via great DNA.

We first saw Sonnenberg against Fury UAA where she was able to get by top-ranked defenders to get to the rim and score, finishing in a variety of ways with either hand. She is also an accomplished three-point shooter. With that set of valuable skills, it shouldn't be surprising to learn that Sonnenberg has already topped the 1,000-career points plateau in high school and holds a high-level college offer. Jadyn also shows strong rebounding ability at both ends of the floor and is an excellent physical defender. We love her confidence and court presence, too. Now that she's in the rankings based on limited viewing by scouts, we expect Sonnenberg to improve her stock quickly once she gets more visibility.

#123 [player_tooltip player_id='560398' first='Aniyah' last='Thomas'] – guard, Mountain Iron-Buhl ([program_tooltip program_id='713214' first='Minnesota' last='Starks'])

If there was any doubt that the 5'5 point guard deserves to be included among Minnesota's top 125 prospects in the Class of 2026, that was erased entirely at the Breakdown Summer State event two weeks ago. That's when the new-look MIB squad made its debut minus longtime standouts Jordan Zubich (North Carolina) and Hali Savela (Jamestown). Their younger replacements – including Thomas – were nothing short of excellent.

Crafty is the word we'd use to describe the athletic guard who competes in AAU for [program_tooltip program_id='713214' first='Minnesota' last='Starks']. Aniyah has great handles, is confident with the basketball, and can shoot it from distance at a high clip. She is also a very good distributor. In addition to filling out and getting stronger, Thomas has improved at pretty much every aspect of the game over the past year or so and does not lack for confidence. Aniyah has now firmly established herself as a player with collegiate-level potential. We can't wait to see what happens next.
