With the soon to be sophomore class is very, very talented it was hard to fit players in the right spot so we could see a lot of movement over the next 6-9 months. Here are the current top 5 players in the 2027 class.
For the top spot, it was really a hard choice to make. All 5 of these players can very easily make a case for the top spot in the class. Benthin plays with some of the best guards/players in the entire state and does a fantastic job setting up her teammates for easy looks. She runs the offense to a high level, finding her teammates often and also setting herself up for easy looks uitilizing her quick first step off the dribble. She plays elite defense too, being a top 2 way player in the whole state regardless of class.
Highlights
Finley bursted onto the scene last year for the Lions on a state level, dominating 2A basketball to win the state championship last year. Parcher wasn’t a surprise to the people up in the Lynden area/Whatcom County though, as many people anticipated she would be a big time player who could help bring the Lions back to the state title game. She facilitates the offense smoothly, having such an insanely high IQ. She uses her length to her advantage, posting up smaller players if needed and getting deflections on the defensive side of the ball.

Aylah is a big time prospect who should start seeing a lot more Division 1 schools start trying to land her talents beyond the high school level. She scores from all 3 levels easily. She can get downhill quickly but also can stop on a dime for a smooth mid-range jumper. Cornwall is an elite deep shooter too, sinking threes with no problem. She averaged over 20 points per game as a freshman and I wouldn’t be surprised if she raised that number.
Highlights
Kawehi has been dominating during the AAU season and even during the high school summer league. Given her 5’11” frame, she mostly gets her buckets down in the paint. She is strong and knows how to seal defenders to be open for her guards to give her the ball down low. She is physical off the glass, grabbing the ball high off the rim often. She can step out and play on the wing too, being able to sink deep shots and drive from the wing to get to the bucket as well. I am very excited to see her continued growth on the court next year.
Jackson is going to be a player who takes the high school scene by storm next year. She is 6’2″ but handles the ball like a guard, being able to run the point guard position if thats what her coach chooses. Her versatility on the court will really help her elevate her game as she can already score from all 3 levels. Her high IQ shows quite a bit when she’s on the court as it seems like she knows her next move before she even makes it, having great anticipation. Division 1 coaches should start looking at her and showing interest.
