The 2024 June Scholastic Showcase was a perfectly executed example of what highlighting the New England prep girls of the region looks like. The action-packed event took place at Loomis Chaffee in Connecticut over the weekend. It was a great look at some of the best talent in the country in a competitive atmosphere. This was a great weekend of basketball and it was presented on a stage where there were dozens of coaches in attendance. The lights were shining bright and plenty of eyes were watching each squad. This was surely a great opportunity for NEPSAC players to give us a great preview of what's to come this upcoming year. There was an abundance of gifted players in attendance, but there are some players that performed well and their talents are a bit undervalued in some regards. These are 5 players who deserve some more acknowledgment for their fantastic abilities.

Sisson was a standout talent throughout play this weekend. Molly was a big presence as a stretch forward in the showcase. Watching her play vs Tabor, she stood out in a head-up challenge against some of the best bigs from fellow RI school Tabor. Molly has the ability to knock down 3's in the half court and as a trailer. She can also mix it up by banging down low on the block. She has more than enough moves along with some counters at her disposal. Sisson is a real threat in half court sets due to her formulized game. Molly is a great screener, communicator and extremely passionate when on the floor. She makes the offense easier to run because of her ability to get reliable buckets at a steady rate. On defense, Sisson is a dual threat. Molly can move her feet well enough to stay with perimeter players for a few dribbles and she can hang back and deter shots at the rim. In the pick & roll, she gives her team options by being able to hedge and recover while also being able to play drop coverage when needed. Depending on the scenario, Molly's game can be tailored to fit the needs of the team. She loves to make plays on the ball and makes it tough on opposing post players looking to catch a rhythm. Molly was looking stellar on the floor for Saint Andrew's. With her recent play on the circuit, it's no wonder why Molly has been picking up some Division 1 offers lately.

Mya is a crafty hard-nosed wing who can score the ball and is a skillful defender. Mya showcased her ability to get to the rim and absorb contact on the way to there. Lambert can create for herself, but loves to create to attack to create quality looks for her teammates. Mya can also bang down low with some of the bigs due to toughness. She sports a soft touch under the rim and can be relied upon to come down with some offensive boards. Defensively Lambert is very skilled and has so much potential. She moves well laterally and her strong base allow her to engage ballhandlers by drawing contact. Lambert has the ability to deter players from wanting to attack her after engaging them. Lambert was a pleasure to watch play; she was tuned in between the lines right until the whistle blew. Mya has a ton of potential as a wing prospect with great versatility. She has a great mind for the game and the capability to matchup with the best at her position. Mya is a definitely a player to watch in the upcoming season taking a larger role on her Lawrence squad this year.

Aliyah Allston (2028) | Wing | Nobles & Greenough

Aliyah Allston was a shining star in the showcase. She was one of the best young talents in the building. The young Noble's wing was everywhere on the floor and was making consistent plays for her team. Alyiah is already a developed prospect that doesn't require the ball much to be effective. She plays well off others and energizes her teammates with her spectacular plays. Her strong frame allows her to be able to finish through heavy contact and draw fouls. Aliyah can knock down shots from her spots when the ball is being swung within the offense, but she also can create for herself when things get tough. Allston's rebounding is an understated aspect to her game. She crashes the glass hard from the perimeter and when in position down low, she's able to come up with the ball after boxing out or tipping the ball to herself. After snatching down defensive boards, Alyiah can become a real threat in transition. She has the ability to go coast to coast and put pressure on the backline of defensives. Allston can be a matchup nightmare due to her innate athletic gifts. As a defender, Allston shows real promise. She shows the tenacity and grit to want to fight over screens while also having the capacity to chasing shooters off their spots. Altogether, Alyiah is a talent that is a bit underemphasized at the moment, but will surely be on most radars shortly.

Tyanna Medina (2025) | 5'6 CG | Kimball Union

Tyanna flaunted her skills throughout the showcase. She's a tough shifty guard that hounds and harasses players on defense. Tyanna's game is tailored for highly competitive action. She was flying around the floor, making plays for her team nonstop. In halfcourt play, she loves to use a right to left crossover to get her into a rhythm. Medina can shoot the 3, but loves penetrating to get straight to the rim or getting to her midrange pull up game. Another nice attribute to her game is her pick & roll abilities. She snakes screens to find open lanes and become a playmaker underneath the 3-point line. Medina usually finds openings to hit her teammates in their spots. Medina is a dynamic passer when coming downhill. She makes flashy passes and bigs need to be prepared for a no-look or a quick dump-off pass in the short corner or block. Tyanna can also cause problems in the open floor as well because of her dynamic quickness. She plays with a certain level of flare and that striking blaze can seem to elevate her play at times. Medina is the type of player to put up a flurry of points in bunches. Defensively, Medina is seeking the action from all challenging guards. Shes gritty and steps up on the "iso island" when her number is called. She's an interchangeable player on the perimeter. She can guard bigger wing prospects due to her quickness and uncanny vigor. Active hands and feet are the name of the game with Tyanna. Medina is also pretty vocal on the floor; she serves as a general on defense and that can fuel her an electricity on offense. Medina is without a doubt an underrated talent.

[player_tooltip player_id='428117' first='Ariana' last='Ingram'] (2025) | 5'8 CG | Winchendon

Ariana is one of the most exciting players to watch at the showcase. She did a little bit of everything for Winchendon. This year she is taking more of a lead role on. Labeled a combo guard, Ingram is exceptional at playing a balanced game, while maintaining an certain level of explosiveness. She is a very skilled playmaker for herself and others. A guard that likes to attack off the bounce, but also has the fundamentals to stay in triple threat on the catch. Ingram gets the most out of every play and she gives herself options. She can jab and go off either foot while being just as effective with both hands. Ingram has a variety of moves she likes to use to create separation from defenders trying to crowd her. Many defenders try to beat her to the spot and get hit with one of Ingram's potent countermoves in route to a basket. Ariana's jump shooting ability run in tandem with her skillful ballhandling and downhill attacking prowess. Combine that together with a high IQ and that makes for a true offensive threat. Ingram also gets after the ball on defense. A very capable defender when guarding point guards and various styles of wings. She is deceptively quick on her toes and hustles to the ball. A great attitude and a winning spirit that are infectious are some of the intangibles that Ariana brings to the table. Her carefully crafted skills and dynamic overall ability make a compelling argument on why Ingram is one of New England's biggest sleepers.
