North-South All-Star Game

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The all-star game held on 6/14 in Charleston, WV did not disappoint! </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The roster for the South: Laneigh Brooks, Maddie Clark, Alaira Evans, Cat Farmer, Mary Beth Meadows, Hailey Newsome, Sophie Nichols, Abigail Pruitt, [player_tooltip player_id='723405' first='Charity' last='Reichard'], Erin Ryan, and Cara Smith.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The roster for the North: Jenna Barnett, Izzy Blomquist, Emma Freels, Macy Helmick, Kenna Maxwell, Tenley Paugh, Ashlynn Peters, Ashlyn Riley, Kenley Rogers, Ashlynn Van Tassell, and Gracie Shamblin. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The South won by a Clark buzzer-beater; 57-55. This game was fun to watch with numerous athletes that we will see play at the next level! </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>West Liberty is getting one of the best athletes in the state. Sophie Nichols ended the game as the South MVP, and at no surprise, she also won the 3 point competition. Nichols finished the game with 21 points and 9 rebounds. Hailey Newsome may have hit the biggest 3 of the day when she drilled one with under a minute left in the game to give her team a lead. Newsome finished with 8 points and 8 rebounds. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>For the North, Ashlynn Van Tassell finished with 29 points and 15 rebounds. This one always seems to be the best player on the court at all times. Her performance earned her the North MVP. Youngstown State University is getting an absolute dawg! When I read Coach Jackson's core values, Van Tassell fits them 110%! </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>For most of this senior class, I did not get to follow your journey. However, the glimpses that I have caught during the end of the regular season, the state tournament, the all-star games, etc; I know that all of you have represented your programs exceptionally well! You closed one chapter, but the next chapter is getting ready to start. Enjoy the process, and know that you have a West Virginian by heart rooting for you all!
