Tomorrow, I'll release the rankings update for the 2027 class. Before then, I'd like to highlight some under-the-radar players that have intrigued me this summer. I want to use today to talk about kids earning more shine this AAU season.

[player_tooltip player_id='828946' first='Kenly' last='Frey']

I've always been impressed with how economical and efficient Frey has been with the ball in her hands. She's not ball-dominant or needs the ball to be productive. I think she's at her best when she works off what ball-dominant kids do. Frey is a perfect release valve when guards get doubled because Frey is quick, wants to get to the rim, and rarely turns the ball over. She's the kind of decision-maker coaches trust to operate and attack in space. I don't know if Frey wants to play at the next level. However, if she wants to play at the next level, a small-school coach will love her game.

[player_tooltip player_id='509719' first='Teresa' last='Kescenovitz']

The Arrowhead Center has been behind highly productive kids each year as a Warhawk in Alaina Haper, now at Purdue, and Erica Bub, who was a stretch five for a state champion. Among all 2025s talented enough to play significant minutes, I'm eager to see what Kescentovitz's role becomes in her senior season. She's a physical presence they didn't need in 2023-24, but maybe a piece that makes a difference for them in 2024-25. She can stretch the floor, but what she brings physically is something they haven't had since Alaina Harper graduated in 2022.

[player_tooltip player_id='509689' first='Alana' last='Mainville']

I didn't know much about Mainville heading into this Spring, but she's made a name for herself over the last two months. She was a kid who made some plays on the defensive end of the floor for Eisenhower this year, but she did some intriguing things on the offensive end for her [program_tooltip program_id='713045' first='Wisconsin' last='Lakers'] group. She'll be a junior next season, so there's still time before the small schools start diving into Mainville as a player, but she could be a name that pops onto those schools' radars next summer in a prominent way if her offense continues to develop.

[player_tooltip player_id='777576' first='Kensington' last='Rosenow']

There's an undeniable smoothness to how Rosenow plays, which jumped out to me immediately. The Mishicot native has plenty of qualities I'm sure coaches at the next level would like. She's poised, handles pressure well, moves the ball, and makes shots off the dribble. Rosenow took the increased role at Mishicot well this season and did better statistically with a higher-usage role that I'm sure will continue to rise as she continues to improve. After losing plenty of seniors after their trip to state, Rosenow helped keep Mishicot competitive in the Big East-North.
