Summer Team Camp Check In’s: Cleveland Lady Raiders

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Coming off a huge season in which the Lady Raiders returned to the Glass House, I was able to touch base with Coach Hensley about her squad's play so far this summer, and here are a few of my notes.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>First and foremost, [player_tooltip player_id='409019' first='Lauren' last='Hurst'] is currently out with an injury, and that changes everyone role. I actually was able to coach her in her 8th grade AAU season, and she was the type of shooter that can get hot and win you a 4 minute stretch by hitting 3 quick threes. She's shot it exceptionally well thus far in the summer, and should build on her role in the rotation that she carved out as a freshman last season. She can both be a high level "catch and shooter" shooter, or she's one of the few players that can legit get her shot off the dribble. Coach Hensley called her an "athletic guard that gets in passing lanes, and is really good getting to the rim." She's simply a winning player that makes winning plays. Getting better and better as a scorer, and is already a high level defender. Another senior that is looking for a breakout season. I've seen her play dozens of times in her career, and she is possibly the most under the radar '28 in the state. She has high level athleticism, length, and is a three level scorer. Hyper competitive. She battle defensively, helps on the class, is a really high level passer, and developing a 3 point shot. Coach Hensley called her a "workhorse that plays hard, is a great rebounder, and makes the right play." </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"placeholder":"Add evaluation here...","className":"text-gray-700"} --> <p class="text-gray-700">I've always lauded her ability to make high-level passes out of the post, which I think really makes a team better. She's a relentless rebounder that generally scores on put backs, and is developing a back to the basket post game.
