is a name that we are going to hear for years to come out of Iowa at the D3 level with her commitment to Briar Cliff. This is also a name we are going to hear quite often the next couple of weeks with the 1A State Playoffs if everything goes according to plan for the Mustangs. Hinder put together a complete showing in her Monday night contest against Ridge View with an easy 12 points (6-10), 7 rebounds, 6 steals, and 5 assist performance to help her team to an overall 17-3 record. This isn’t anything out of the ordinary. We are used to Hinder putting up good numbers and the Mustangs winning. Two common themes I think we are going to continue to see moving forward these next few weeks.

of Newell-Fonda High School. This commitment was an important one as Hinders is a next level talent, standing over 6’0 for her position with some unique ability. Other than height, Hinders brings coordination, touch, vision, and great movement for her size. When you pair all of those things together and have a good coaching system to follow, you see positive results and that’s what we have here. Over the past 3.5 years, Hinders has been a force every time she takes the floor and this season has been no different. This speaks to her own success as an individual and to the success of her team over-time as well.

ends up going to play at the collegiate level in some shape/form. Whether that be on the Basketball court or the Volleyball court. Hinders is a very athletic Forward, standing between 6’0-6’1. With her ability to out-jump most around her and given her natural height, you can imagine that she EATS in the Rebounding department and basically in any other category that takes place around the painted area. Over the past three seasons, Hinders has been a constant at the Varsity level for her Newell-Fonda Mustangs team and that is going to continue for one more season. Following Volleyball, she will step back onto the hardwood with the hopes of putting together a Senior season to remember.

Hinders is someone that I’ve recently talked about the past few weeks so I’m only going to briefly talk about what she can do. Hinders is an athletic, 6’1 Forward, that can cover up the glass at a consistent rate while being someone that opponents have to worry about when she is on offense or she will score double digits by halftime. The Newell Fonda Mustangs will return their main producers from a year ago and they will also bring in some new blood, if they go out there and replicate their season from a year ago, they are sure to see another State run this upcoming season. As for Hinders, not sure what sport she will go to college for but whoever gets her, is getting a relentless worker who always yields results in some sort of way on the court from what I’ve seen.

has put together one of the most impressive high school careers as it pertains to sports that I have seen in a long time. She may not be someone that has averaged 30 PPG or anything like that on the basketball court but she is a multi state champion, being a main force on her Mustangs team. She is a beast on the softball diamond, being consistent at the plate and in the field. She is a state qualifying track star in a few different events and in general, she is just a winner. No matter how you put it, that translates to the collegiate floor. I’m not sure what sport she is going to be looking to play at the next level but as you can tell, she is going to have some options. She just needs to keep her head down and stay focused. If she does that, there isn’t much that is going to stand in her way.

competed at the State tournament this past Winter, proving to me that she is someone to know moving forward out of this 2025 Class. Hinders has size, a crafty play-style, soft touch on the basketball, and a high motor. She is someone that can dominate her smaller matchup or she can stop someone that might be a little bigger than herself. The best way to describe her game on the high school floor is inevitable. She always seems to show up in one way or another and I expect that trend to continue. She is competing with a smaller AAU program this Spring/Summer season and then will be back with the Mustangs for her Senior year of high school ball. As long as she can get in front of the right eye’s while playing, she is going to be on a college roster once everything is said and done. She is to tall, athletic, and too smart not to get a chance. She just need to keep up the hard work and it’ll pay off.

The Newell-Fonda Mustangs have been a powerhouse for the past few years on the hardwood and that was no different this season. They may have fallen just short of a State Title but that was not due to a lack of effort by any means. One of the best and most important players to their system is Forward,

. Hinders has great size, a high motor, and an act for making something happen when her teams offense breaks down. For all intents and purposes, this group can kill you in a number of ways but the most efficient way over the past few seasons has been by the play of Hinders in the Post. When she catches with her back to the basket and she has some time, she is very tough to stop in a 1v1 situation. If the defense decides to double her, she is good enough to make the easy pass out to the perimeter for a wide-open shot from one of their guards. This program is going to continue to kill it over these next few years. If you look at their personal returning and understand the 2028 Class coming in, you can see as to why. They are going to be primed to stay relevant in the 1A Class for the foreseeable future. We just need to find out how far they can take things on a consistent basis moving forward.
